Next press briefing Bush should send out Limbaugh as Substitute Press Secretary.

Darn it! I missed it! So, was it a presser, or just a short speech?

Was it strong enought to really get the lefts panties in a bunch? I love it when that happens!

Not a bad idea. He'd give David Gregory something to chew on.

A short but very good speech. The Dems and the MSM are going to be deeply offended.

I missed the end of the speech. What quote did he use that was Kerry's?

I've just e-mailed the President to congratulate him on his speech and to urge him to 1) get his staffers out there refuting the Democrats' lies on a daily basis, and 2) repeat the refutation himself on a regular (perhaps monthly) basis.

I was speaking generally, as I thought you were. I don't know if anybody was called on a Bushbot on the thread or not.

49 minute speech. Very well delivered. Stronger language than usual about the Islamofascists. And then about 3 paragraphs that took on the liars on the left and their attempts to re-write history about how the war began.

The president said that the UN had resolutions which mentioned specifically Iraq's WMD.

The president said that a bipartisan Senate investigation found there wasno evidence to change the intelligence community's judgements regarding WMD.

The president said that intelligence agencies around the world agreed with our assessment about WMD.

The president also mentioned the Iraq war resolution which mentioned WMD.

And I think he mentioned that the Democrats saw the same intelligence he saw. (Mr. Peach interrupted for a second and I missed a sentence or two there).

The president also mentioned that his opponent last year (Kerry) voted for the war resolution because of the threat of Iraq's war resolution. He had the entire quote.

It was excellent. Much stronger speech than he's given thus far this year, imo.

Anyone that even thinks that Bin Laden and Saddam wouldn't collaborate is an idiot. They had something in common that cannot be disputed: America is the enemy!!

Take Usamas abilities to "deliver" and Saddam's abilities in WMD and you have a lethal combination.

Iraq and the capture of Saddam was the right move and the terrorists went right to what would have become their haven anyway.

You have to remember that Saddam was VERRRRRRRY close to having the UN sanctions removed.

The lies about the war have been percolating for a long time.

I think possibly this might be the unintended consequence of the advice early on that we, the public, should go on about our lives. I think it has mostly engendered a denial of reality, fed our penchant for escapism. Our pop-culture is replete with enticements to run away from reality. Too many people give more attention to Desperate Housewives then our soldiers. And the Left has taken advantage of this fact. Others have already pointed out the solution: stay on message and repeat it. Repeat it every time the camera is on. And keep repeating it. Keep the left on defense.

Echo chamber of so called conservatives bashing the President. You are right about the echo chamber, but we are at war and bashing the President only gives aid and comfort to the enemy. That is why it is traitorous behavior on both sides.

"What is needed IMO, is the REPUBLICANS to come out and state over and over and over what the Pres has said. Frist, Hastert, McCain, (maybe that's expecting too much!), Sessions, etc etc."

Yes it is expecting too much, considering mcPain is front and center with the "Republican Main Street Partnership" which includes 10 SINators, 5 governors and around 50 non-representatives. Not to mention the RinoRat 7 that includes an additional 3 SINators.

You are under the misconception that the REPUBLICANS are on our side. Seriously research the link below and then you will know what the President is up against.

"bashing the President " is one thing, constructive conservative criticism is another.
