Mary Mapes Names Names ("Anonymous" Ones)
Posted by Bill
An excerpt from page 201 of her new book:
Within minutes of Buckhead's original posting, Freepers began to repeat and embellish Buckhead's thoughts. Not surprisingly, they all agreed with him, they all agreed with one another, and they all agreed this should be pursued aggressively. Freethinkers they are not. The Freepers and their lockstep like-minded fellow travelers moved as a group, like a school of sharks sweeping toward an unaware and unarmed victim. CBS was like some sunburned, overweight Florida tourist with a cut foot, floundering and flapping in the water alone in the surf. The Freepers swarmed CBS not because it was right or fair but because they could. On Web sites such as Powerline, INDC Journal, Allahpundit, and Spacetownusa, the bravehearts of the blogging world worked anonymously in what appeared to be huge numbers, in unison, to destroy the Bush-Guard story, to uphold one another's wild and hateful claims, to outshout, outargue, and outblog anyone who dared to disagree. And on their Web sites there is no disagreement. They hate in unison, they speak with one angry voice, they each make themselves bigger by staying as close together as possible.

How does the "Texas Air National Guard" memo match almost exactly with the same text typed in Microsoft Word on its default settings?Right. And if she ran it through the copier enough times, that's where all the little specs come from along with the blurring of the type...

"Within minutes of Buckhead's original posting, Freepers began to repeat and embellish Buckhead's thoughts. The Freepers and their lockstep like-minded fellow travelers moved as a group, like a school of sharks sweeping toward an unaware and unarmed victim" There were only two choices, either the document was a forgery or it was genuine. Either would produce a number of people in lockstep with one another. Given the evidence, intellectual honesty demanded reasonable folks would choose the first. It's not rocket science and has nothing to do with the issue of free thinking.
Regarding subjects about which there is and can be a variety of thought, posters on this board and conservatives in general will have a myriad of opinions, while Democrats parrot the opinion their leaders and the MSM prepare for them. It is they who march in lockstep. As usual, they accuse innocent others of what they themselves are guilty.

This woman is typical of the MSM.
Pull the network licenses. It is the only way to end the madness.

I spent 10 years in the USAF, my father served for 28 (four years as a 702)and I have all of these records. I couldn't find one piece of documentation that followed what Mapes considered "authentic". All of the USAF 702 specialists were trained at Keesler AFB and the way they were instructed to produce documents was SOP. KC couldn't find any like what Mapes called "authentic" and neither could I. Mapes wouldn't know what a 702 was if it bit her on her left teat.

'twas available, but that is of less relevance than your point that
any 1970 document that closely resembles the CBS documents would give plausibility to Mapes, but no such document has been found. Even a document from outside the military would demonstrate feasibility. And unless it's faked, it's highly unlikely that one will ever BE found.

There was was a journo named Mapes,
Who made lying videotapes,
Fake memos she spread,
Was caught by a Buckhead,
And now she's all sour grapes.
