Actually there was a post this morning that the WH is starting a propaganda war to return fire.
I'm not laughing with you, I'm laughing at you.
Whether anyone likes it or not, there's a lot of truth in what you've wrote. I voted for President Bush twice, and admire him greatly, but no one is perfect (not even the President). A lot has been done to this man by a lot of partisan hacks and vicious people, but I'm sorry to say that he's brought some things on himself. If he doesn't start to fight back and fight back hard, he will be a lame duck of the first order(and deservedly so!)

White House to Hit Back
>>Actually there was a post this morning that the WH is starting a propaganda war to return fire.<<
ROFLMAO
I don't know if the conciliatory strategy is politically or psychologically motivated, but IMHO, he could be standing a lot firmer and taller than he is ... particularly, as you so rightly say, in behalf of our men and women fighting on the frontlines of freedom.
I didn't like the way he caved in on Katrina at all; he should have blasted the leftmedia critics as the vipers they are and laid responsibility squarely where it belongs instead of pledging billions of dollars to feel-good "programs."
I'm laughing at you, too.
Who're you going to vote for? That goofball in the Constitution Party who doesn't support the War on Terror?
When he went on vacation in August... he never really came back. It's a sad state of affairs right now.
The great failing of the GOP is that it has not confronted the democrat party for moving left. The GOP saw an opportunity in this, because it helps the GOP win elections most of the time. But it also allows left wing thinking to be mainstreamed, and the next democrat president will have a preposterously weak national security team. It is NOT in America's interest that a major party has moved so far left, and that the other party treats the leftist agenda with respect.
You're sorry? I'll agree. You're one sorry poster.
Their true enemy is the real robot, the MSM, the most enormous and influential political machine on earth.
You are correct and msm has a way of pulling the so called "true blue Republicans". I think different. Those on here who are against Bush for imigration, or whatever the reason of the day may be, really don't seem to be the ones who have any real ideas of their own, and msm is playing right into their brain washed brains.
I think Bush laid low because his numbers are down and his taking a high profile in places like California and NJ would only have done more damage. And he has been in this position before. I remember when he was interviewed by Russert and expressed confidence he would be reelected. His numbers were so low and everyone thought Iraq was ssuch a disaster that Bush's confidence was viewed as irrational. So he can still come back. But the lame duck status creates new challenges taht I think require him to be more aggressive.
Yeah, but he ain't got his flying car, and cheese is still very expensive.
Don't forget that he hasn't vetoed a spending bill since getting there, and that he let Teddy write the No Child Left Behind Act.
I just wish he would realize that he was re-elected and that the gloves should come off! We have a historic chance to bury liberalism. Break out the shovels, man, and lets get started!
As they've demonstrated clearly the last few years, there are no uncompromisable principles, no lines in the sand, no core philosophy that defines a Republican. Everything is up for grabs to keep one's office, and there is no assurance that a Republican won't just roll over and become a Big Stupid Government weasel once elected. In fact, it's pretty likely.
So, Republicans, how's the "limited government" thingie you've been promising us for decades coming along . . . . hmmmmmmm?
I've been a proud "Bush-bot" for years. He's a decent man, has some good policies, and has done fairly well on the WOT..; however, count me as one who has turned increasingly sour on President Bush...
Sure, I have issues with his (lack of) borders issue, his "spending-like-a-drunken-sailor", etc. I look at his record holistically, I'm not a single-issue voter, nor do I blast the President or turn on him because he doesn't think or act in lockstep with my views.
The turning point for me is his (and the GOP leadership's - Cheney, who's a DISASTER, IMHO, Frist, Hastert, etc) reticence to fight back. For those that know me, I've been complaining about this profusely, ever since none of these guys ever disputed Kennedy's "lie after lie after lie" outrage, and his comment that the war was "staged in Crawford for political purposes"...
Not challenging them only emboldened them. Kerry, a lying traitor, almost became President because Bush allowed him to lie time and again, and through the debates, without challenging him. The whole Katrina mess, where Bush just turned the other cheek... It goes on and on... Much of America believes many of these lies, and yesterday's results, to some degree, reflect this.
It may be too late to get the record straight at this point, unless Bush gets rid of Cheney (Condi), replaces McClellen, and FIGHTS BACK AGAINST THE OUTRAGEOUS CHARGES!
