Beware of boycott emails. Remember the whole Target thing?

Some how I have serious doubts that WalMart sent an official corporate e-mail that included the phrase "Siberian shamanism".

“Walmart is a world wide organization and must remain conscious of this. The majority of the world still has different practices other than ‘christmas’ which is an ancient tradition that has its roots in Siberian shamanism. The colors associated with ‘christmas’ red and white are actually a representation of of the aminita mascera mushroom. Santa is also borrowed from the Caucuses, mistletoe from the Celts, yule log from the Goths, the time from the Visigoth and the tree from the worship of Baal. It is a wide wide world.”

Sorry, this alleged message pins my bogometer.

Something smells like a future Snopes entry. Of course, some dolts will surly buy into this... if they followed every one of these boycotts for every offense you read about, all they could do is stay home and hide in the closet..

Bill is right. When I type in Christmas, Walmart responds with, ‘We’ve brought you to our ‘Holiday’ page based on your search.’

I'd hate to pick on Walmart, but I must admit, I am troubled by this and hope that their discrimination against Christmas ceases immediately.

Click on Christmas, and here’s what you get: ‘We’ve brought you to our ‘Holiday’ page based on your search.’

gee, I avoid Walmart simply because everything they sell is made in China and I won't fund their future war against Taiwan or the USA.

Oh, this sounds bogus. I suspect one of those email hoaxes here. That does not sound like any corporate letter I've ever seen.

Oh yeh, like no one's going to shop there if they don't see Christmas splade everywhere. The dippy sheeple will never notice the difference.

If this were some email of apocryphal origin this would be one matter. But this is the Catholic League's own press release for corn sakes. A Christmas tree is an evolution from Baal worship? Tell that to Martin Luther who invented it.

Walmart should be taught a lesson by Christians of all flavors, concerning biting the hand that feeds it. I say spend Black Friday at Target.

Well, Donohue is dead on with the Walmart search engine. HOWEVER, you can click one more time and get to about 8000 "Christmas" items.

It's a bit odd that neither Chanukah nor Kwanzaa get you to the same "Holiday" page with the same admonition. Discrimination? Maybe. Inconsistency? DEFINITELY!

Reminds me of when I was in college and had to send holiday greetings out to my fraternity alumni.

One alumni complained about it being a "christmas" greeting.

So I followed up, pointed out so said brother who was offended, and then proceeded to name every single holiday that was possible for that time frame (yes I even included Kwanza, which brought a response from an african american brother who lectured me on how he does not respect "phoney counterfeit condezending pagan wannabe holidays....praise Jesus").

When PC goes bizare and weirdly wrong.

Sidenote: The brother who complained faced immediate verbal and written harassement.

replacing “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays” is the trend now among retailers and businesses big and small. Is Wall Mart doing it? I don't know, but if you boycott them because of it then you better be willing to cut out most of your shopping, flying, hotel stays, eating out, etc.

This is just another pick on Wall Mart story.
