La County with ~11 % counted is holding to form with 73 74 75 passing, the rest No. The http://vote2005.ss.ca.gov/Returns/prop/00.htm SS website says 0% of precincts reporting in LA county. At 9:01 PM, only 75 was barely passing in LA, and everything else was losing. 73 and 74 were barely losing in LA. Maybe these are only early and absentee votes.

"I heard some repubs/conservatives didn't like the possibility of federal judges getting involved in the redistricting issues"

Win or lose, the liberals spent 130 million and that means in 2006 in CA, the left will be 130 million short.

I was looking at the returns by county.....San Bernardino isn't in at all yet....they're pretty conservative, historically; Imperial County isn't in yet, either; I can't remember which way they go....I'm thinking they lean more right than left....

"Leading in L>A>"-- if that's the absentee vote from LA the figures may not reflect what is yet to come. SF wasn't counted yet either last I saw. Hope the BAD counties don't surge in and change the leads before all is done.

The judges would be state retired judges, not federal, if I recall the prop correctly. please, someone correct if I am wrong.

Why would you want an unelected panel deciding the district lines? Seems the conservative position would have only elected officials so that they could be held accountable by voters!
Thank you for clearing that up! I had forgotten that was what that did. So the Moveon.org that failed in Ohio had a counter part in California. Intresting that they both are failing. Why was the Gov for it?

but at the same time know that they need parental PERMISSION to go on a school trip or get a cavity filled. or probably even to have the school nurse dispense an aspirin to them for gods sake!

I voted at 4L30 pm in Santa Monica & there was only one other person voting. The rolls were mostly unsigned & I asked how the turn out was.....the poll workers said it had been slow all day. That is a good sign.
