Paris police fear rioters' heavy arms (French fear muslim guns and grenades)

PARIS -- Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin using them. A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said. Jean-Christophe Carne, president of a police trade union, told The Washington Times before last night's outbreak that police officers were increasingly pessimistic that civic order would be restored anytime soon. "Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs," said Mr. Carne, president of Action Police CFTC. "In the past, when we have cracked down on these criminals in their homes, we found drugs, grenades and heavy weapons such as guns. While they haven't started using these arms yet, there's also no reason to think they wouldn't."

So does the rioting in France continue? Oh, my no. It dies out gradually and its participants retire to enjoy the largesse that the French government will shower on them. And they wait. Next time the lessons will have been learned and the level of violence will be much higher, for the stakes will be control of the French government. But not this time. They're not ready yet. A year or so to pull in sufficient armaments and they will be.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to find that they are aleady doing that in the chaos of the moment, so to speak.

In doing so, France will just be supplying them with the means to ensure their (the French's) own destruction.

"The greatest French leader was a Corsican and their greatest warrior was a 16-year-old girl. Their national holiday is Bastille Day, July 14. In 1789, hundreds of them stole some guns and attacked an empty prison. To this day that hollow victory is their national holiday."
And don't forget that their elite military unit is the Foreign Legion. A group of men from various backgrounds that have nothing in common except that They Are Not French.

Agreed.
While you're extrapolating, keep in mind your original assessment, that this op was pre-planned, start to finish, before it ever started.

Key question....this all evolves to.....where?
Been thinking about that one an finally came to a conclusion. Islam, from the beginning, has made clear that it's intent is worldwide "conversion" (read "conquest"). We keep hearing that Islam means "peace" or "submit" and the whole world will be at peace when the whole world submits and converts to Islam. I believe that they (the leadership) is much more organized and prepared than we give them credit for in attaining that goal. So, they use stuff like this to test the waters AND make gains in their overall strategy. As France bends over (and I don't mean backwards, if you get my drift) to accommodate them; they will be providing them with the means to further strengthen their position in France both in manpower and supplies. They are , in effect, gaining a military advantage there so the next time they try something like this, they're even better prepared and can make more gains. They are willing to wait, years if need be, because they know that it will allow time for even more PC thinking to take over and for people to forget and let down their guard. I've been afraid that that has been happening here but I think that for those who know about this, it will be too much of a reminder of 9/11. If other nations don't take heed, we will eventually be in deep do-do. It all leads to: they're going to keep trying. Islam needs to be exterminated.

I'm sure we could spare a few troops from Iraq to bring the French up to speed on urban combat
No Way, We're not going to help these idiots again just so they can spit in our faces later. I they can't figure this out on their own, then too bad for them. I will protest for "US out of France"

Just as in NOLa, rioters simply loot what they need. Of course, with French guns mostly unavailable as a strictly commercial product - it makes it a bit tougher. Which means going into homes would net more weapons unless things really get out of control like NOLA in the first days after Katrina.
It is vastly amusing to hear Jesse Hijacker (thanks, Savage) whining about how America suddenly realized that we were warehousing the poor and paying them to breed - sounds, well, French.
The French are suicidal - a Gallic trait from Vercingetorix forward. This link covers it:

The FFL were good soldiers after WW II because the Waffen SS soldiers joined up. They were whipping Uncle Ho's butt up and down Indochina When the French public found out about it they said - no, no, le no! - thus, Dien Bien Phu:
http://www.tightrope.cc/news/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=74 .
Great book on the subject: "Devil's Guard". Includes accounts of the SS using Lewis on the VC. Gotta love those fun-loving Germans. Of course, the VC did such things as kidnap and torture and murder Frenchies - some times in an attempt to get them to surrender military installations. The FFL Waffen SS soldiers response? Gather up the VC's family members and assure them of reciprocity.
The point is, the French are unwilling to take the simplest, most obvious measures to repress the violent street scum. They have let street rioters run wild for decades. While the Waffen SS may have been too extreme, the French government is the lily-livered wussy opposite. They cannot last much longer at this rate, and even the FFL won't save them.

I'd like to propose the establishment of a new country just for Freepers. Our constitution will be simple: 1. Capitalism, without a hint of socialism.
2. A strong and merciless defense department.
3. We don't put up with ANY MUSLIM CRAP!!!
4. Fridays: hot fudge sundaes are half price.
5. Microbrew Happy Hour Thurs 3-10pm...and I'm in

ROFL. Yep,...that'll do it. We'll have peace in our time in Paris and all of France. Boy am I relieved.

Oooooo, that's a really good and really wicked suggestion. I'd pay to see that and help implement it.
