PARIS -- Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to sophisticated weapons including grenades and could soon begin using them. A dozen officers were injured, two of them seriously, after being shot with hunting rifles fitted with lead pellets during rioting last night in the suburb of Grigny, south of Paris, police said. Jean-Christophe Carne, president of a police trade union, told The Washington Times before last night's outbreak that police officers were increasingly pessimistic that civic order would be restored anytime soon. "Most of these kids are being coached by professional petty criminals and gang leaders in the suburbs," said Mr. Carne, president of Action Police CFTC. "In the past, when we have cracked down on these criminals in their homes, we found drugs, grenades and heavy weapons such as guns. While they haven't started using these arms yet, there's also no reason to think they wouldn't."

Their governments have manufacturing facilities. Among other thinkgs, they can't get their precious oil out of the ground without technology.
It seems whatever governments they have want to be modern, but terrorists don't. What do they want, opium, heroin, fire and blood? No one can live on that.
Could they be clever enough to know they won't get shot unless they're seen killing someone?
I'd like to point out that this constitution is a "living document."
... or does that no tfly here???
:)
I am guessing we found Osama.
Yes, but their goverment officials all are chauffeured in Mercedeses or Lexuses, and their people drive Opals or Ford Fiestas. (And an awful lot of the technology for getting oil out of the ground is bought from Western oil companies and companies with oil-field serve arms like Haliburton :-) .)
Hello, Everyone, Big Bad Bob here, from the Garden Of England. I think it's time that you all get the view from my side of the Pond.
I think first things first, we have to say that this has been threatening to come for some considerable time, what people have to understand is that although in the mainstream media for the last decade, it has been depicted that France is the most multicultralist country in Europe (which is absurd!), there has been an severe undercurrant of resentment from those in the Inner Cities and suburbs of Paris, Marseille and Lille that prosperity and employment has not arrived there as well as in the more, dare I say bourgeousis areas of the country. Remember this resentment has come up before. The Paris Metro bombings in the early 90s showed that Race Relations in France were not what the outside world was left to believe.
It has to be said though that the attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the continuing threats to both Syria and Iran are also beginning to take its toll on Muslims. The attacks on both London and Madrid as well as the assasination of controversial film producer Theo Van Gogh in Amsterdam last year shows that the War on Terror is, as much as I'd hate to say it, is now in our cities, and in some cases are the battleground, as we have seen in France this past week.
What is my thoughts on where we go from here. I don't like the future and the way things are going. Some commentators are saying that the riots across France are in an way an intifada. I like to disagree, but I can't. This has been waiting to happen, and like most things only need a spark to let off the entire factory. With reports coming in of smaller scale disturbances in Berlin and Brussels, this could be the start of something that none of us want to see.
It will be interesting to see how the indigenous populations of certain countries react when they see the cities burning.
You'll put your eye out!
Has a Muslim uprising in Europe started, with France as the first targeted Western nation?
I bet Iran's mullahs, Arabia's Wahhabists and the rest of the Mohammedan fanatics are loving this.
In France they are much more sophistated, in lieu of the rag they use la tampon.
Their governors accept western technology in order to swell their riches. Does that put the terrorists against their own governments as well as us, then?
There have been some firearms incidents, several police have been hit. So far mostly shotguns. This could get out of hand, and the French people won't wait for the police to deal with it.
A modern pre-charged air rifle, which I believe are legal in France, can shoot it's projectile at more than a thousand feet per second.
I'd be surprised if they had any of them. Modern pre-charged guns are quite pricey, probably quite beyond the means of a (likely unemployed) immigrant kid on the dole.
"300 cities! That sounds out of control."
It is...extends to Belgium, Germany...islamists are terming this the "Ramadan Offensive" we've heard of...
"Odd there haven't been any deaths."
Actually, there was one, and will be more. A 60 year old man was beaten to death by the rampaging muslim mob. His offense? Trying to put out a fire in the trash can that the mob set next to his apartment. Also, don't forget the disabled woman tourist who was doused with petrol and set on fire...also the 13 month old child injured...remember, this incident is being DOWNPLAYED by the press. Unfortunately, we'll eventually hear of more horror.
Back to your original query...
"What other animal craps where it sleeps?"
I hadn't thought of this before, but there is one....
a pig.
Ironic, isn't it, that they don't eat pigs? Maybe they know it would be cannibalism...
As a matter of fact, it is legal for Frenchmen to own guns for hunting--and in rural areas, many of them do. Not much help in cities, though.
If its good for them, its good for you too frogs! Maybe they will even let you keep Paris! LOL!
