The schools in Yonkers were not as great as you remember them to be, even before bussing. The only places with great schools in Leftchester are Scarsdale and Chappaqua.

Doesn't Gun + Mask + Attempted Entry = Probable Cause in the first place?

Not sure where you're going with that.

I have to assume the "Officer" is not a real cop or is not armed.

I assumed that, too.

Hunter?

Oh don't throw a logical answer into it. We've got a Fox News Alert!! Will give those morons something else to break in with until at least 5-6 o'clock tonight. I mean with the number of missing people starting to drop off apparently, may as well break into national news with a completely local story..

Do you often wear a mask while hunting?

I do when I go turkey hunting.

You are the only one bringing up home schooling. Why?

Back when I was fresh out of college, I did a brief stint as a teacher's aide in PG County, so I have some personal feelings about incidents such as these. Like everyone here, I hope they get the perp!

I would be worried sick if my kids were in a public school. I prefer to keep them safe at home. I know where they are and what they're learning. No baby killing, tree hugging, insane mass murderers, or homo fisting classes for my kids!!!
Things aren't like they used to be at school. The kids always used to come first. Today, they're liberal Guinea pigs, and they're being experimented on by raving mad liberal social scientists.

I'd like to bolster this "debate" with a few thoughts.
Mothers are always the FIRST teachers. Whether or not a child attends a public school, at "home" should be continuing education with motivation to learn creatively and gain knowledge. History, as most subjects in life, is exciting if you don't have only the prescribed and uninspired school textbook to read.

No matter how perverse the public school system is, the moral and knowledge foundations for children are set firmly at home.

I guess I just would have assumed the person would have been dealt with right away had the officer been armed and trained.

I can't say a whole lot though...we don't have officers at all around our schools, a friend of mine walked straight in to his son's elementary school in his old fatigues with a fairly large knife plainly hanging from his belt after hunting. walked from one side of the school to the other, dropped off his son's lunch money, and left without a question being asked.

If there was hunting in that area I believe it would be shotgun only...

My middle school was very good, Emerson in North Yonkers. Once a nice area just as nice as Scarsdale currently inundated with Muslims and third world country folk!

"Did anyone but the officer actually see the perp?"

Not that I know of.

"Doesn't Gun + Mask + Attempted Entry = Probable Cause in the first place?"

"I have to assume the "Officer" is not a real cop or is not armed."

School security officer maybe?

I've not been able to find any additional info on this story.

In PG County, it's more likely a disciple of the prophet mohammed.

John Allen Muhammed, that is ...

Ah yes. The sniper. That would explain the nervousness on the part of county employees.

Good question. It got me talking about it, otherwise, I'd have never have thought about it. Our kids are safe at home, though. I'm glad.

Dear Physicist,

I believe the officer is likely a member of the Prince George's County Police Department. I think that many (most?) of the county schools have county police officers, now.

Even when I attended county public schools in the early 1970s (for three years), county police officers were already being assigned to the rougher county schools. I remember my junior high school got one.

And yeah, they carry guns.
