It is now getting dark in Paris and in all of France(appx. 6:40 PM Paris Time), and if there are any French FR lurkers(lurquers), this may be the thread to post your reports about any further violence.
It seems the French govt. is impotent in it's response to what seems are jihadist thugs and it seems the American media has put a news blackout filter to what is really happening, so as not to embarass their heroes, Chirac et al.
So any news reports or personal reports from what happens tonight are welcome, and don't worry about broken English, reports in French are welcome also, I have no doubt someone can translate.
I really dread putting up a live thread about such a matter, but it seems that the American MSM is following French govt. orders to play down to what it seems is an insurrection.
The Iranian ambassador to France, Sadegh Kharrazi, was summoned to the French Foreign Ministry on Thursday morning and asked for "clarifications" of the remarks by Ahmadinejad.
The ambassador "was reminded that the right of Israel to exist cannot be contested. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot serve as a pretext for calling into question this fundamental right," French Foreign Ministry spokesman Jean-Baptiste Mattei said. "The ambassador took note of this demarche and indicated that he would report it to his authorities."
No we'd complain about coverage of it preempting our soap operas, sports games, and sitcoms. :-P

I'm picking myself up off the floor!!!
France can take care of itself. I have to figure out WHAT has happened to the inhabitants of the White House!
In the "Tacoma Tribune" it was reported that a 50 year old woman on crutches was pulled off of a bus and badly burned. No information was given to indicate her condition or that she survived.
Foreign Minister Philip Douste-Blazy told parliament that if Iran did not return to negotiations with the so-called EU-3 (France, Britain and Germany) on the issue, "then there will be firmness and there will be a return to (IAEA director Mohamed) ElBaradei's report to the United Nations Security Council."
Excellent post...Lets hope it dosent fit the USA either.
.We need to stay awake .
As I said above: These "underclass youth" of Muslim/North African origin may not be jihadists. But I suspect that some jihadists may be fanning the flames or maybe even instigating the entire thing.
I read in our local paper that the French were angry at the foreign press coverage the riots had received. Methinks the French protest too much.
"However, I find solace in the notion that the ACLU will be silenced under Islam... of course so will the rest of us."

No, the aclu will be stopped, or at least slowed down, before the rest of us are:

Excellent example of a lizard. hehehehe
Anything is possible, but absent proof, it is idle speculation, and suggests a level of conspiratorial organization designed to influence foreign policy, that I find near tin foil. The more obvious reason, is that the French government decided to send the police back into these police free zones, to break up a criminal drug etc culture that was allowed to exist without legal restraint. The punks did not appreciate a long absent daddy suddenly reappearing with a strap, after enjoying the fruits of a lord of the flies existence.
[...we'd complain...]
I pray that you are wrong.
"Well I am in Phoenix, AZ. I have not seen any mosques here in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix metro area.)"

Oh, they're there! They are everywhere.

OK... It's late and I've been at this all day, so this next comment is only to be taken with extreme sarcasm.
If an Islamic insurgency in the U.S could stop the ACLU and ABORTION, does that make a Muslim invasion a good thing?

This has been a wonderful discussion. Thank you all for education, entertainment and fellowship. Have a good evening and may God bless your day tomorrow.
All that I do know is that Sears & Roebuck made a bunch of money on an unnecessary appliance. The clothes dryer.
Because few people like to hang their undergarments in plain view of the neighbors. Similar thing here with France. Who amongst us would want for our city to be tarnished with an image driven by foreign media coverage with their own agenda? The French people perhaps deserve to be a little indignant. Their government policies deserve all of the scorn and derision that is delivered. And then some.
Very cool link, thanks.
