It is now getting dark in Paris and in all of France(appx. 6:40 PM Paris Time), and if there are any French FR lurkers(lurquers), this may be the thread to post your reports about any further violence.

It seems the French govt. is impotent in it's response to what seems are jihadist thugs and it seems the American media has put a news blackout filter to what is really happening, so as not to embarass their heroes, Chirac et al.

So any news reports or personal reports from what happens tonight are welcome, and don't worry about broken English, reports in French are welcome also, I have no doubt someone can translate.

I really dread putting up a live thread about such a matter, but it seems that the American MSM is following French govt. orders to play down to what it seems is an insurrection.

It has EVERYTHING to do with it. And if you read all my posts, you would see that I am not advocating deporting or persecuting people based on their religion. Though muslim nations do that and no one minds. They persecute, jail, or deny entry to Christians and Jews and that doesn't seem to annoy anyone in the world community.

I am saying emphatically that if you deport the people who engage in these kinds of barbaric anarchic activities, shooting those who will not be detained, it will STOP IT! Those who are involved in these violent riots, violating the law and flying in the face of free society and democracy, do NOT deserve the privilege of living under it's protections and benefits. If all muslims were like those living in America, who have engaged themselve in American society, and actually taken in American culture in their lives, not expecting the whole country to adapt itself to them as muslims, it would be great. But the fact is, MANY muslims go to other countries, and demand that that country adapt to service them as muslims and that is NOT appropriate and NOT acceptable. Make no mistake. If SOMEONE comes to America or ANY western democratic country THEY are obligated to adapt THEMSELVES to life in America or whatever country, America is NOT obligated to adapt itself to THEIR CHOICE to be muslim. THAT is NON-NEGOTIABLE! And if muslims don't like that, they can feel free to go to one of the 55 muslim nations in the world and live there. THAT is why france is in flames right now. They didn't demand that muslims coming there respect french law and customs, instead, they allowed them to come enmasse and turn their neighborhoods into little meccas and medinas. Understand?

Bush is down there to announce another step in the 'integration of the hemisphere' deal. You'd think the man in the street would be thrilled, especially when he looks at the end result to come....free trade and free travel throughout the hemisphere. Come and go as you please. Whether the average American will be thrilled is another matter,(since we're dispensing with American sovereignty and control of our borders, etc.), but you'd think the South and Central American 'street' would be ecstatic. I believe it was reported that one journalist was in the area, got out of his car to take a picture and within 90 seconds was attacked and murdered in front of his wife and child.

I don't know if he was a professional journalist and why the heck he would bring his wife and child into such a dangerous situation. Then again, the Left aways feel they can "talk" sense into these Terrorists.

BTW, IMHO they are Terrorists, regardless of what their motives are. What a living hell these people are creating for themselves. Why not just shoot each other and get it over with. Where do they go after everything is burnt down?

Dane, I don’t think I can prove you wrong about the bricks. Don’t recall a story about them throwing bricks. Frozen water bottles have been used against elderly US citizens. The Border Patrol is being shot at and having rocks thrown at them on a daily basis. Several police officers dead along with thousands of American citizens. 95% of the outstanding murder warrants in LA are for illegals. Citizen land owners on the border have lived for years in a war zone 24/7. Then there are those pictures that you and everyone else has seen on FR of their trail of disaster and burning the American Flag in California. Many of them show Muslims standing beside hispanics in their protests for their “rights” as illegals.

OK, I gotta' ask.... How do we know this is being done for the cause of Islam?

Good question. We should not be too quick to judge what this is all about. There is dreadfully high unemployment figures in France in general and these demographics specifically. The problem has been caused primarily by the hold pervasive unions have on the employment picture, secondarily by restrictions on entrepreneurial behavoir. Then comes the welfare mindset. Finally, the cultural aspects come into play. This could easily happen in Las Angeles if economic conditions were similar. You don't need radical Islam at all to fuel this.

Having said that, I don't think it (radical Islam) is unimportant in this situation. I think this is a tool they will use. But, truthfully, it is really bad PR for them. I imagine this will stiffen even the wet noodles over there.

And one thing is for sure: It is hard to blame American neocons for this. But it will be fun to see them try.
