Family members are investigating what they consider to be suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a nursing home patient at the center of a life and death tug-of-war reminiscent of the Terri Schiavo tragedy.
Seventy-nine-year-old Jimmy Chambers died in the early morning hours of Oct. 24 after the tracheotomy tubes that deliver oxygen from a ventilator to a hole in his neck became unhooked. Family members were told Chambers, a resident of the Anne Maria Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in North Augusta, S.C., apparently pulled the interlocking tubes apart.
"We're having it investigated. We're just incredulous," Chambers' daughter, Deanna Potter, told WND in reference to her siblings. "The last time I saw dad he was blowing me a kiss. I blew him one and he blew one back."
The retired dispatcher for Holland Motor Express died approximately 10 hours later. His death certificate indicates he died of "natural causes."
"Apparently, suffocation is a 'natural cause' when you're on a ventilator. We're contesting that," said Potter. "He suffocated. He didn't just pass away. He struggled and fought. And I'm just so angry."
Potter estimates it would have taken 10 to 14 minutes for her father, deprived of oxygen, to fall unconscious, and questions why the nursing home staff didn't come to his aid.
"The oxygen-saturation meter and his ventilator both would have had alarms going off. Four-thirty, five o'clock in the morning you'd think someone would hear this," she added. "That's the thing that really bothers me and makes me suspicious."

I haven't been following her case, what stage it was at. It is a steep sentence, you're right about that. And the five years is steep too. House arrest and community service would be more like it, maybe time served if she's already been incarcerated for awhile.
Anyway, Michael Jackson isn't dead but this link says he's critical: http://www.nationalenquirer.com/celebrity/63488

Well, then Matt Drudge, shame on him for putting the story on his page in the first place.

M. Schiavo is going to retaliate against the politicians who tried to save Terri in Florida or in the US Congress. He can't change laws in other states unless his endorsements get the candidates of his choice into office.
We may be looking at an ACLU type country thanks to Michael Schiavo's success with FAUX republican judge Greer's offing of Terri.

Jim King had a bio on the internet but he altered it at one point to remove his Hospice Hall of Fame recognition. Maybe he's English - he looks like an actor in a Renaissance Fair scarfing down turkey drumsticks.
He'll miss all the gratuities from lobbyists when the law is changed.

Someone has proposed an anti-Schiavo web site but it's in the early stages.
Further, if we stick with politicians who are pro-life and don't vote for the pro-choicers, pro-life candidates are usually more conservative in other areas too, like eminent domain and with immigration issues.

I remember we had info on him posted at the blogger research thread we made on Terri. Unfortunately that thread was pulled. I have no idea why. But I do remember we had him linked with the funding. And then I found that King College connection to the same funding. Made me curious.

If someone said something outrageous to zot the thread, maybe that's why it was pulled. There's plenty of time to throw together a dossier on Jim King but maybe a freeper should keep it downloaded on their hard drive. Guess I need to look up Duval and Volusia freepers as we get closer to the election. Jim King's staff hates phone calls too.

We know how revengeful Michael Schiavo is. He even said on Larry King's show that he would not help the Schindlers "after what they put him through."

I keep thinking of those who whine and complain that this is old news, that the legacy of Terri is over and time to move on. Then, I see how many topics pop up almost daily fanning the flames and I realize the legacy of Terri burns strong and grows.

"Bill would make organ donation automatic for drivers in South Carolina"
And why not? We already don't own our property now, nor do we own our lives any more, so why should we own our bodies? Besides, our rulers - our self appointed "betters" - are entitled to use us mere peasants as a pool of replacement parts! (/sarcasm)
South Carolina AGAIN! I came back to SC so I could be "home" again, and because SC had a great record of resisting socialist crap. Not any more. The election of Turncoat Lindsey marked the coming of the neo-con neo-feudalist revolution to SC. Word on the street is that Mr. and Ms. Avg. Citizen oppose this, so there's no chance it will pass. But I don't know - legislators everywhere make a good show of representing the people, but the time when they actually did is gone. Now they represent the agenda of whoever bought them. So this could pass even with 95% opposition. Wouldn't be the first time.
I suppose we could poke around WWW.SC.GOV and find the text of the bill, its sponsors and the vote. It might do some good, might not.
Note: Until recently the SC govt.website was called WWW.MyScGov.ORG. I assume the name change was done to reflect reality. It's been a while since it was My SC Gov.
And that's my rant for today...

North Country Gazette wins the trifecta today with these posts which I have excerpted:
Pamela Hennessy's Op-Ed:
Michael, the self-made widower of Terri Schiavo, has launched a Political Action Committee titled TerriPAC and is asking people for money to support it.
Do As I Say - Not As I Do
Janice Stanford weighs in with this:
It gags me to think of the word "family" coming from Michael Schiavo's mouth.
Apparently, he wants to be able to change the definition of family to suit his life style. I mean how many other married men do you know of who would live openly with a "girlfriend" while the woman he vowed to love, cherish, through sickness and in health lay inside a hospice dying?
Anyone who is familiar with the "facts" in the Terri Schiavo case knows that Michael Schiavo's family never included his legal wife.
Broken Vows Cost Terri Schiavo Her Life
And this by Carrie Hutchens
Spring of 2005 was a sad moment in time. It's when Terri Schiavo's death sentence was given a go ahead and no one could do anything to stop the wrongful execution. How helpless it felt to us. I don't even wish to imagine what it felt like to Terri. Okay, the tears are starting again. God didn't mean for us to feel that helpless, did He? Maybe Terri's situation was to prepare us for the journeys to follow. Maybe she was the one that would make us take note, where taking note had never been before.

Looks like some Canadians got the number of the American Communist Liberal Union and Judge Greed.
Greer will receive an award because of authorizing the death of Terri Schiavo. In other words, the judge favored what the ACLU favors: euthanasia.
ACLU assisted the deceaseds estranged husband seeing through the "right to euthanize her."
