Watching WH briefing John Roberts Just apoligized to McClellan by sayin "I'm sorry for my unfortunate choice of words this morning". McClellan just nodded in response.
I'm betting that is the case. This is one of those few times that I think people should just accept the apology, move on, and be ready to raise up on their hind legs if it happens again.
CBS REPORTER TO WHITE HOUSE: ALITO 'SLOPPY SECONDS?'
Mon Oct 31 2005 11:26:56 ET
CBSNEWS Chief White House correspondent John Roberts described the Presidents selection of Judge Samuel Alito as sloppy seconds during todays press gaggle with White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.
John Roberts: So, Scott, you said that -- or the President said, repeatedly, that Harriet Miers was the best person for the job. So does that mean that Alito is sloppy seconds, or what?
Scott McClellan: Not at all, John.
Sloppy seconds is described in the United Kingdoms A Dictionary of Slang as:
Noun: A subsequent indulgence in an activity by a second person involving an exchange of bodily fluids. This may involve the sharing of drink, or more often it applies to a sexual nature. E.g. Im not having sloppy seconds, I want to shag her first.

Or at least pull his White House Press Pass. The man shouldn't be allowed to darken the doorway of the White House ever again.
McClellan should have replied..."Thats ok. When you said sloppy seconds, I thought you meant the guy you picked up over in Adams-Morgan last night."
Conservatives on a roll!!!!!!!! I love it.
I still say he should have been lead out of the White House and relieved of his White House pass, regardless of who's president.

You think he deserves to be fired over the "sloppy seconds" comment??? Was it in poor taste? Yes. But to fire him over that? I probably wouldn't.
It means "unlucky." This wasn't "unlucky."
It was crude and offensive.
Pray for W and Our Troops
It's tough to divide the language so what is said inside staff meetings does not drift out into public. That separates the pros from the wannabees.
Childish.
Drudge has no mention of apology as yet...
wow, roll on conervatives.........
Is it safe to say that today Roberts lost whatever shot he had at the anchor desk?
