I said I'd never heard it before so, no, I've never said it.

Or do you mean have I ever used "double dipper at the chip dip". I'm not sure I've used that but since I've seen every Seinfeld episode, I know where it originated, at least, if that's what you mean.

Well, since I posted I've asked 4 people about it. The 2 men knew it. The 2 women, one 25 and one 47, did not.

I've never in my life heard it before and I grew up with 5 brothers.

I have no respect for John Roberts -- apology or not. His press pass to the White House should be pulled.

< Disagree the more we can pound them on their idiocy when ever possible the better it will be in the long run
keeps them on the defensive. >

We yell about this double standard all the time. It gets us nowhere. Gee whiz we have a Dim Senator who used the "n" word in a TV interview. Nada. This battle never changes.

You think he deserves to be fired over the "sloppy seconds" comment??? Was it in poor taste? Yes. But to fire him over that? I probably wouldn't.

The comment was outrageous and beyond the Pale. The fact that a supposed "conservative" such as yourself thinks this is no big deal and is acceptable, just shows the extent to which our society has sunk into the gutter.

When did I ever say that had a conservative said the same thing they would have executed him at midnight? I never said that.

I HAVE, from reading this thread been enlightened as to the seriousness of it. I had no idea, really, that this was so poular as a derogatory phrase. Learn something new everyday.

Yes, it is more serious that first thought so, yeah, hang him.

"John Roberts Just apoligized to McClellan by sayin "I'm sorry for my unfortunate choice of words this morning". McClellan just nodded in response."

McClellen lacks the huevos to tell Roberts that he was way out of line, and an apology will not "cut it". Roberts, one more Canadian with a Dan Rather fixation.

choice of words but not the sentiment.

More CBS "fake but accurate"

What kind of a mental midget has no mental discipline to filter out such explicit sexual slang? What kind of a corporate culture or environment does he live were sexul acts pervade normal every day discourse?

He should be expelled from the White House Press Corps for conduct unbecoming his station.

Second that. It seems the whole lot of them still think they can get away with anything, notwithstanding Rather and Mapes.

John Roberts should have stuck to doing "The New Music" on CITY-TV in Toronto. Saying "sloppy seconds" is the least offensive thing you can do on a channel that runs blue movies on Friday nights.

Now that would have been a great response!

I emailed SeeBS and didn't even get an auto-response from them. My email didn't come back, so darn it, anyhow, we're not freeping up their servers. :(

Sloppy seconds. That is said at a FRAT HOUSE, not a WH press conference.

Nor would I, if he made a reasonable assertion that he did not mean to introduce a sexual connnotation where it was inappropriate.

Some person not long ago was persecuted for publicly using the word "niggardly" because the undeducated thought that it was racial slur. The administration ought to use this as an opportunity to set a standard which they might later use in defense of OUR people who make a poor choice of words or phrase. That is the right thing to do.

I appreciate McClellan and the fact that he never gets down and dirty with the media hacks. Each time they ask a rude question it proves their lack of integrity. If it turned into a sparring match, we would lose the advantage.

Again, I beg to disagree/differ. I agree the WH Press Secy shouldn't get "down & dirty with the media hacks". Instead, he should command and demand respect. Sorry, but Scott McClellan is the Rodney Dangerfield of Press Secretaries in the White House, and his "performances" have become down right embarrassing.

Imagine for a moment what a WH Press Secretary would be like in the mold of a Donald Rumsfeld. He'd be quick on his feet, witty, no nonsense, but would demand and RECEIVE respect.

The most important reason to replace McClellan is that the world is watching and everyone's noticing that he's just a nice guy with no bark/bite (read respect).
