"Iran's 'Jerusalem Day' is a carnival-like event during which one can express his hatred for the Jews, burn a few flags and meet with jihadist recruiters looking for suicide bombing candidates. "
That kinda sounds like your average American peace protest......

"The open call to destroy the state of Israel highlights the comparison with another leader who was elected by his people in 1933 [Adolf Hitler], whose agenda included an open call to destroy the Jewish people." This main difference this time, of course, is that these Jews are armed with at least 200 nuclear warheads and have the best conventional military in the Middle East. If the Iranians pull any stunts they'll be dust before they're able to blurt out "Jih......"

....the most forceful adjective that Kofi Annan could come up with to describe the UN's official position [on Ahmadinejad's threat against Israel] was 'dismay'. As I mentioned previously, Kofi was dismayed that the Iranian terrorist leader publicly voiced his intentions, not dismayed that he has those intentions in the first place.

And, while the Western world might express 'dismay' at a Moscow-led sneak invasion, it is unlikely that it will risk nuclear war with the Russians over Israel. Perhaps, but the real question is why would Russia risk annihilation, especially considering Israel has nothing they want (natural recources, land, etc.)? What does Russia have to gain from this "sneak invasion"?
Israel may not have ballistic missiles that can reach Moscow from Israel proper but you can rest assured that they'd find a way to get at least a few of their hundreds of nukes over there if the Russians led an invasion force to annihilate Israel.. I can see the Russians "sacrificing" their major cities if their own survival was at stake, but that's obviously far from being the case here.

According to the Bible, so extremely powerful angels are given authority over certain groups, nations, families- for example, the archangel Michael is called the "Prince" of Israel. So apparently, Michael looks over the Jews, and fights for them. Like a police officer, they're his "beat."
Interestingly enough, Persia (Iran) is also mentioned as having a "prince", although, unfortunately, he is fallen. In the book of Daniel, the angel Gabriel comes to speak to Daniel the prophet and says, in Daniel 10: 12-14
"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for 21 days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to give you an understanding of what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to the days yet future."
This creature, the Iranian prince, is still there, and still working against God. The Bible teaches that our enemies are never human. These are the creatures we should be concerned with.
