Per Fox News...
I suspect Libby, or his attorney, will come out swinging in this.
"Seems strange, doesn't mean it IS strange."
But the supposed purpose for the note was to release Miller from confidentiality to a source so it's rather strange for Libby to use such verbage. Evidently, Fitzgerald thought so too since he grilled Miller on the content.
The markets care about politics only to the extent that they affect votes and policy in Washington that affects the economy. If Bush is weakened significantly by indictments (which I doubt) then that makes it tougher for him to implement his pro-growth economic policies that are generally regarded as good for the stock market. Just watch, the market will sell off this afternoon (EST) before Fitz's news conference at 2 PM.
LOL. Well dont pic me like Kristol with wet pants. Im just sitting here in my briefs.
I dont think Im doom and gloom. Any indictments are going to affect the White House and not in a positive way. Anyone who believes that Wilson or some cabal at the CIA are going to be indicted are either drinking heavily or taking some funny pills. So why should I be dancing in the street. Oh they only got Libby for perjury, no crime there. Arent things great!
They're reading from the press release issued by the media wing of the DNC (Associated Press).
I think you are right about Goss and his investigation into the whole deal of undermining this administration. I would think that Tenent is not in the clear as well. Asking Rove to keep his testimony secret tells me that he is involved in the investigation of who he talked with and is NOT the target.
"Yikes. Even the Fox reporters are saying the Rove "escaped indictment for the time being."
Fox is not much different than the clinton network, is it?"
I can kind of understand that - Fitzgerald is signalling that it's not over for Rove. Not gonna be pleasant if we get another 6-9 months of this.
Meanwhile, over at MSNBC, Chrissie looks like he's lost his best friend.
Brewster Jennings (the fake company Valerie was supposedly working for) was also connected to the Saudis & BIG OIL!
Brewster, Jennings & Associates to energy, oil and the Saudi-owned Arabian American Oil Company, or ARAMCO. Brewster Jennings had been a founder of Mobil Oil company, one of Aramco's principal founders.
I've heard nothing but complimentary words about Scooter Libby- from a couple of people who know him casually. This is why I'm frankly surprised at this.
Just announced- indictments to be handed down within the hour.
Where is the link for Fitz's web page!!!!!!
Recent leaks and actions PROVE that the GJ is a witch hunt. Bush should declare a pardon issued to anyone indicted by this partisan body and shut the whole thing down.
The Fox chick is now using other reporters as her source for saying they'll have news in an hour.
I think I read there was a big Dem meeting in Aspen, I think in 2003? 2004? (Damn I forgot). Everyone was sworn to secrecy. I think it said a bunch of millionaires were there.
Doc dump at noon by SP!
I see & agree with your point, but it still seems counter-inituitive. If a prosecuter can play a GJ all he wants, without letting any contrary evidence in, then the GJ merely becomes a formality step in being dragged to the court on a serious charge??
Fitzy is gonna somehow find a way to drag this out to election night 2006, while Democrats flood the zone with the "era of corruption" codswollop they've been trying out for months now.
LOL, don't take this daves seriously. He always tries to put the worst possible spin on everything and when pressed for details on what he says he runs and hides. The guys a closet DUmmie.
Sadly, not anymore. Which is why I'm freeping and NOT WATCHING!
