Per Fox News...
I think he's preparing the left for a letdown.
Seems strange, doesn't mean it IS strange. For example, if I met you in Yosemite (and perhaps we had a conversation about rock climbing), then later I wrote a note stating..."next time you visit Yosemite, make sure your piton is properly anchored or there might be chain-reaction accident leading to injury or death," it COULD imply a threat. But, then again it just might be a reminder of a past conversation.
According to the leaks, Libby had notes taken in a conversation with Cheney. In the notes Cheney told Libby about Plame. Now, according to the leaks Libby didn't reveal the notes to the GJ. ????????
Who gave the GJ the Notes?
Obviously not Libby. Something is screwy with this whole scenario.
Russert!???
"Statement due shortly from Rove's attorney"
Do we know a time for that?
No .. no time was given
How does Val keep her clearances after marrying Joe whose ex-wife is not only a a foreign national, but foreign official? The same way she kept them even when Joe was a working for a lobbying group, iirc, whose major client was the Saudis?
Denial. Denial. Denial. Count the Dead, the 2000+ of Iraq, the 3000- of 9/11, the thousands dead in terrorist incidents since the Munich Olympics, including OKC, including perhaps flights 800 and 587, the Marine Barracks in Lebannon -- that Black Tally lays offered at the altar of middle-eastern oil. Iraq for one, but Saudi is the bigger, the darker.
In the beltway we have a class of elite who are fatted, foie gras, on the Saudi's voluntary tarrifs. The unctuous grease in their livers matches drop for drop the blood we spill.
That is fair and constitutional. I would rather have to proceed through an indictment before being brought to trial instead of just being dragged to court immediately on a serious charge. But the indictment means nothing, only probable cause.
Amendment V of the U.S. Constitution.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
I thought Libby had turned over his notes. Where did you hear that it was someone else that turned them over?
Like that guy Donovan (I think) in Reagan's gov who was cleared (and probably nearly bankrupted) by a GJ/Prosecutor sicked on him by the Dems, "Now where do I go to get my reputation back".
Rove is not a target of this investigation, he is a witness and that is why the SP asked him to keep his testimony secret. Anyone testifying before a GJ is free to divulge their testimony unless the SP deems it crucial to securing an indictment on someone else.
The media HOPES Rove is indicted. That's all you can glean from it. I think in the end the SP will be hanging from the gallows somewhere, because the media will be beyond torqued that he failed to bring Rove and Cheney down.
The media likes him now, but wait until he screws up. They'll drop Fitzy like a hot rock, and drop kick him into obscurity.
The media as well as the Democrats have a penchant for glomming onto complete losers.
Thank you for this article. It is dangerous times when the legal system and intelligence agencies use their duties to engage in the political process. I know it has always happened to some degree but this investigation and Fitzgeralds conduct thus far has been very odd at times. I can't help but look back to 1998 when a case for War was being made for the Clinton administation. Maybe that is where some of the "bad" intelligence was formed.
Thanks. I have every confidence he will be cleared, but as somebody once asked after being acquitted of a BS criminal charge, "That's fine, but where do I go to get my reputation back?"
Fox is not much different than the clinton network, is it?
Last report (15 minutes ago) from reporter in the courthouse is that an indictment has been issued, 12 or more jurors have concurred, and at 11:00 a.m. Fitz and Jury Foreman will present it to the Judge.
Timmy will be crestfallen, particularly after VT tromped BC last night.
I am fully aware of that. My point was that both Cheney and Libby had exact same information which would beg the question as to which of the two "leaked" it first, if indeed either one did so.
Is it possible Libby is covering for Cheney?
