I think if I were sitting on that GJ for the last 2 years and last night I heard on the news that the NYT was reporting on the outcome of a vote I had not made yet, I would be a bit perturbed.

It was a festival that happens every year when the aspen trees change color.

Make my day. lol!

I think I could kick Larry Johnson's butt without even trying. He's another of those former (thank God!) "super dooper secret CIA spies" who wrote in July 2001 in the NEW YORK TIMES that the United States was just paranoid about terrorist attacking us. Can you imagine being so stupid?! And the timing was a little off too since planes flew into buildings to KILL US in Sept. 2001! He should have had a clue since he is so well "connected".

What did a** hole Kristol say? Was he spinning it very hard to make look bad for the White House? Unbelievable!

I was typing to another thread when I heard him say (paraphrase) "If Libby is accused of lying to the GJ by not revealing Cheney as the source, why did he lie?" Sheesh, he's helping the dems with their talking points.

As others have told you it is a common joke. When a grand jury indicts, they are just saying that there is sufficient evidence to believe that 1) a crime was committed, and 2) that the person being indicted did it. Doesnt have to be beyond a reasonable doubt. Just more likely than not. So its pretty easy standard to meet.

More importantly, only one side of the story is presented to the GJ. Exculpatory evidence of benefit to the defense need not, indeed, is not presented to the GJ.

I don't think so. The CIA would be awfully tough to investigate IMO. So much of their work and communications is classified. In his job, Rove would not have many contacts with CIA people. That's the role of national security advisors such as Rice and Hadley.

The SP asked Rove, as I posted days ago, not to divulge his testimony as it was germain to the on going investigation. I think that there is a undercover investigation in the CIA about all we've been posting about.

My guess is that Fitzgerald may know of an internal CIA investigation being led by Porter Goss (current CIA chief) that is trying to find out if CIA employees that came onboard during the Clinton Administration may be trying to undermine President Bush. That could REALLY open up a major can of worms because that could lead to investigation of the Democratic National Committee, its friends in the MSM, and possibly several Democratic members of Congress. (ouch!!)

I'm trying to figure out of the GJ voted on the charge yet

No, they haven't yet. He is just now presenting it to them but he does have twelve of the GJers who agree with him according to someone on Fox News.

Ugh, that doesn't seem quite fair, but I'm not a legal expert. (Obviously)

Maybe saying "escaped for the time being" is the MSM's way of continuing this story ad nauseum.

Maybe but on the other hand it may be because according to the source who if I recall correctly is close to Rove, he is STILL under active investigation by Fitz.

Someone is yelling during the speech

Probably that lunatic Medea "Susan" Benjamin since she seems to have more time than brains.

The markets are up because the GDP grew at an annual rate of 3.8% when it was widely expected to show slowing of growth. The markets care nothing about the slash and burn politics in Washington. All they care about is the implementation of policies that will hinder or promote economic growth.

Would he know who agrees with him by his experience as a prosecutor or is he allowed to ask them along the way?

"And the media has been the big loser in all of them"

I would love to see a newspaper that doesn't take its lead from the New York Times. Just one. Just one that doesn't think Jayson Blair/Walter Duranty/MoDo Land isn't the greatest.

Because this guy Fitzgerald needs a scalp to justify two years of investigating and coming up with zippo on the real charges. IF Scooter is indicted, my bet is that it will be on some BS charge based on him having one recollection of a conversation and some reporter having a different recollection. Scooter is way too smart, way too careful and way way too principled to lie to a prosecutor or a grand jury.

But why would Libby write such a note to Miller??

Someone on Fox News said that his book was kind of like that too. A little different and strange to read. Or maybe he was joking with her.
