There's just been a knock on your door. You are being sued by Larry Johnson for calling him a SUPREME JERK. It isn't the fact that you actually called him a SUPREME JERK, the suit is based on the fact that you used capital letters to do so.

The financial markets are unconcerned about all of this: Dow +60, Nasdaq +11. That's a sign that the smart guys on Wall Street don't think this case will weaken Bush significantly. They're right about 90% of the time.

I think I heard her wrong, was only paying 1.2 attention and no one followed up on that.

The guy just said that "Rove ESCAPED indictment, for the time being" (emphasis his). Since when does not being indicted constitute an "escape"?

I imagine Rove considers it an escape.

When the source for the story tells you that Libby is being indicted and admits that Rove is STILL under investigation that is hardly an indication that he has been cleared.

didn't Judith Miller have a "relationship" with Lee Aspen, the dude who was Sec of Def under Clinton?

"Not Lee, Les"

Not Aspen, Nessman -- hot shot reporter for WKRP.

How long do you think it will be before the MSM says they were told to applause so long and loudly?

So if he would have written..."it's a shame the pines out west are dying of bark beetle infestation," it would have been an indication that there was some kind of infestation in the White House? If he said, "it is hot in D.C. during the summer," would that somehow imply that he was feeling "heat" from another source.

That's what I'm trying to tell you. Aspens are indeed connected by their root systems and do turn in clusters. Maybe he's the braniac sort that takes pleasure in knowing obscure facts....otherwise how would he even know this?
Did you know this?

I wish your friend, Scooter Libby, the best. No doubt he is a very good man and I hope he will be cleared if indicted.

I think she said that Fitzgerald would present the case to the GJ for indictment at that time.

I don't get the "ham sandwich" in-jokes. Can someone explain it to me please?

As others have told you it is a common joke. When a grand jury indicts, they are just saying that there is sufficient evidence to believe that 1) a crime was committed, and 2) that the person being indicted did it. Doesnt have to be beyond a reasonable doubt. Just more likely than not. So its pretty easy standard to meet.

Maybe saying "escaped for the time being" is the MSM's way of continuing this story ad nauseum. That way whenever they mention Rove in a story they can put right after his name "who has escaped indictment for the time being".

"Give direction?"

Maybe he's like Ronnie EArle, has a film crew working with him.
