I imagine Rove considers it an escape.
When the source for the story tells you that Libby is being indicted and admits that Rove is STILL under investigation that is hardly an indication that he has been cleared.
Maybe saying "escaped for the time being" is the MSM's way of continuing this story ad nauseum. That way whenever they mention Rove in a story they can put right after his name "who has escaped indictment for the time being".

If I had told the truth to a jury, I would not consider it an "escape" not to be charged. And with the "sources" this week being so wrong already (just earlier this week, it was Rove who was the man goin down), I'd be hesitant to repeat such source's claims verbatim.
Well, Mr. Doom and Gloom, I am beginning to think you are Bill Kristol.
The media HOPES Rove is indicted. That's all you can glean from it. I think in the end the SP will be hanging from the gallows somewhere, because the media will be beyond torqued that he failed to bring Rove and Cheney down.
The media likes him now, but wait until he screws up. They'll drop Fitzy like a hot rock, and drop kick him into obscurity.
The media as well as the Democrats have a penchant for glomming onto complete losers.
