That's very true, but before he testified to the GJ he must have gone over his notes and decided what he remembered about the key aspects of this case and what he didn't remember. Then he wouldn't give any inconsistent testimony. I'm wondering if Libby didn't take this case seriously enough because the original purpose was to investigate a non-crime. Who knows what happened but perhaps he was busy with other issues and he didn't prepare well enough for the GJ.

It's a reference to the saying that a good presecutor can gat a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich - as in very little evidence is actually required.

Since this was a leak investigation and the news we have now is deriving from a leak on the grand jury. Has a new crime been committed? We may need a new special prosecutor.
Also isn't it true the jury had not voted as of Wednesday night and they are just now reconvening?

Most of my black neighbors over 50 around here are pretty solidly conservative and church folks. To counter that, there are some pretty wild afro-centric nut cases around here too, blaming 'the man' for everything since original sin. On balance, the GJ are probably giving a pretty fair shake.

I wonder if it may be incomplete, or totally untrue Even though I am caught up in the flury of activity, that thought, make that fear, has been lurking in the back of my brain.
The reporting has not been accurate, why should it be now? And then I wonder about the Rove statement scheduled. And then paranoia strikes deep.

Yeah, the MSM media love to remind us all of that when a Dem gets indicted...but the saying seems to disappear when its a Republican.

Since it was "common knowledge" in DC, could it be possible that he heard from some reporter -and- Cheney? Exactly! Whey isn't the MSM even thinking of the possibility that Libby heard about Valerie Plame even before his discussion with Cheney??? How many people takes notes of conversations with media people over drinks at a DC party?? This is soooooo stuuuuupid!! Her name was bouncing around DC like a pinball - who knows where it first came from. Sheesh!

We need a petition to get the CIA investigated for this! If the stupid SP isn't going to do it then our elected officials should find out who in the CIA (present & former) tried to bring down the President of the United States in a time of war!

The indictiment of Libby may have something to do with the letter he sent to Miller while she was in jail. Fitzgerald asked her to read the last three paragraphs to the GJ
Specifically, "The public report of every other reporter's testimony makes clear that they did not discuss Ms. Plame's name or identity with me," Mr. Libby wrote.
Mr Fitzgerald also focused on the letter's closing lines. "Out West, where you vacation, the aspens will already be turning. " Mr. Libby wrote. "They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them."
I predict that Libby and Miller will be indicted.

Two years and another million dollars down the rat hole. That really makes me mad. They could have ended this in one day by checking the law and Plame's covert status. One week if they are slow readers. She openly drove to work every day at the CIA and had not been assigned out of the country in the past five years. That does not fit the law, so no law was broken. What a waste of taxpayer money!

Interesting that all the leaks that have been coming out of the grand jury so far have been wrong. Any leaks from a grand jury constitute a crime as serious as the reason for this grand jury.
As for the direction of the grand jury, could it be that he has gotten permission to investigate an attempt by some in the intelligence community to undermine the interests of the US for political purposes?
