Guys, I went to Drudge and read the report. All the charges say is that after he put the info out there,with Miller, even though he new who Wilson's wife was; all he did when the reporters called was say that he didn't know first hand but that was what all the reporters that were calling him were saying. BOGUS. GO SCOOTER. GIVE'M HELL.

I got that impression when Pete Williams said he read through the 22 page document and there was no mention of the original charge that this case was originally intended to find out, which is, "Who outed Valerie Plame?". If anyone should be asked that question, it's Novak.

Maybe this will be a lesson to those in the WH -- don't talk to RAT reporters that are married to Clintonties. They have been playing nice with the reporters and RATs for way too long and it bit them.

I've got to find that Maureen Dowd column. What do you make of the Scooter letter? "Out west, where you vacation" or sumtin' like that. Who writes like that unless they are sending some kind of code or are referring to something that is of particular interest between just the two of them? It's such a clumsy construction that his choice of words really stand out.

I posted that many times in the run-up to this. The answer I always got (which is true), is that guys like Rove and Libby - its THEIR JOB to talk to the press. Its one of the things they do.

The press set these guys up. All these people - Miller, Cooper, Russert - they all knew Wilson's wife was CIA before baiting Rove and Libby when talking with them about the Wilson affair. Now of course, we can't PROVE that (because no one is investigating it). But we can just look at the Andrea Mitchell comment for example about the DC cocktail circuit knowing Wilson's wife was CIA, to guess that Cooper, Miller, and Russert also knew that going into this whole thing.
