I hear Roy Orbison . . . . . .

"It's now or never . . . "

Game two of the 1922 WS was called a tie because of darkness even though it was still half an hour before sundown. The pubic outcry was such that the powers that be in MLB decided to donate the money made from the game to charity.

I'm really proud of the Astros and Houston this year. If you look at this series, it could easily been Houston going for the sweep tonight. That's baseball. The Sox fans deserve it and I salute them (but I still want us to come back in the 9th)

How am I being a sore loser by stressing the importance of being a gracious winner? I've told my oldest son this before...You can tell a lot about a man by how he accepts defeat, but even more about a man by how he wins. CH seems to be the only Sox fan on this board that has a modicum of true manliness.

Good Lord! Make that Elvis, not Roy Orbison! These Astros have gotten me all confused. . . . .

Just a tip. Be careful calling someone from New England a Yankee.

Garner has not looked like a very good manager. (I can predict your response, "That's 'cause he's not!")

On the radio Joe Morgan was saying earlier that he would have batted Lamb 4th tonight and moved Ensberg down.

It'll always be Comiskey Park to me even if they change the name to Free Republic.com Stadium.

(....oy, what am I saying?)

Problem is that the Houston Chronicle was doing a blog with reports from fans in the stands during all the games. During and after both Chicago games there were numerous reports of thuggish behavior in the stands.

It was at this point where Boston began their epic comeback.

I still call it PacBell Park, rumor is it's going to be AT&T Park next. :-(

It's beautiful. The food's great, the view is great, we generally have pretty good baseball, great fans, kid-friendly but not stupid. Get the garlic fries, but be sure you share, otherwise you'll have a three-foot kill zone around you! Let me know when you guys come out!

sore loser?

I'm not a sore loser. like I said, I'm proud of the Astros--they have class.

Maybe I missed the thread about the incident with Biggio's wife, where I could've discussed it there.

I notice you didn't ride on the Astros fan making snarky comments. I agree that being a gracious winner is important, but if the loser is whining are you just supposed to take it?
