(CNN) -- Only one in 10 Americans said they believe Bush administration officials did nothing illegal or unethical in connection with the leaking of a CIA operative's identity, according to a national poll released Tuesday.

Thirty-nine percent said some administration officials acted illegally in the matter, in which the identity of Valerie Plame, a CIA operative, was revealed.

The same percentage of respondents in the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll said Bush administration officials acted unethically, but did nothing illegal.

I don't think they did anything illegal.

Plame was not an under cover cia agent. She'd been outed years before....I believe by the Cubans.

That's why she had a desk job at the time this happened.

They just want SO badly to have another Watergate. I'd pity them if it weren't so laughable. They're addicted to power attained by fraud.

Well, DUH! The MSM has done nothing but pound on this thing for the past few weeks, reporting the indictments as if they were a fait accompli. What do they EXPECT people to think after that?

I'm pretty sure that about 85% of those work for the press.

The other 15% are starring in something at your local Cineplex.

Exactly.

MSM told them what is. Then, asked them what is.

However, the bigger picture is that it is propaganda.

It wouldn't surprise me if they fabricated the entire story, something they've been doing rather frequently lately.

Making old Dan rather proud of his students.

> How many of these 39% still believe that Bill Clinton didn't have sex with Monica Lewinsky?

The answer is 30%. During the CLinton years, I paid particular attention to the various polls, and it was invariably the case that no matter how damning the questions were about Clinton, there was the hard-core 30% that would defend him to the hilt.

I seem to recall that Nixon's approval numbers at the time of impeachment were around 30%. Thus, I believe we have identified that a majority of Americans (60%) are wingnuts, split down the middle between left and right wing.

S.O.P. The MSM spin, spin, spin. Then they conduct a survey to "prove" their spin has worked. And why not? They've gotten away with the same tired routine as a long as I can remember -- and that's a long time. I know the spin has worked too. I listened to the conversation in my barbershop this morning. If it's on TV or in the papers, that bunch believes it's Gospel.

Hillary Clinton is behind this, as are those in the CIA who supported Kerry.

Shout out the corruption exists, then create the perception of corruption, and follow the perception is reality theory until it is assumed. Classic radical rhetoric in support of fiction over fact.

You're not as Pollyannaish as you once seemed.

LOL. You know, that ish part comes from somewhere. Every Pollyanna needs a little edge.

And I am particularly hard on the press. Ok, so I really dislike, bordering on hate, most of them and find them lazy perpetrators of conventional wisdom and other assumptions. Except for Brit Hume who is my journalistic hero.

Does that ruin everything? I'm still a nice person, honest I am. ; )

What a weird world this online business is...one day defending myself from being called a kool-aid drinkin' Pollyanna and the next defending myself for being called NOT the Pollyanna I once was. LOL.

What would you expect most people to believe after the steady drumbeat of "The White House Lied" for the last 6 months?

That is exactly what they done, Uncle Vlad.

The members of the main stream media should be investigated for sedition and being enemy agents but certain mebers of the Senate[to wit] Arlen Spectre, RepublicannPA. wants to enact a law that would shield reporters from having to reveal their sources.

This would be right dpwn the main stream media's alley. They could then, citing unnamed sources, be free to report any lie they chose as truth. They already do this to a large extent but this law would remove whatever small constraints that now hold them back.

Only 1 in 10 Americans think the Bush Administration did anything illegal. That says it all. That means that a huge majority of the liberals think that as well!
