The good Senator defended it last night talking about benefiting 8900 people, but I heard that there are only 50 on the island itself. He implied it would give access to an airport? Sounds like a ferry would be a better investment.

Absolutely - EVERY FRIDAY...snow, sleet, hail, "high density humidity" we will be there. It appears we will be participating in "high density humidity" again tonight!
That is why we can never give up to fight against liberalism.
Here is kind of how it works. A developer, politically connected, sees a tasty piece of property, but the investment needed in infrastructure to develop it is too great to allow you to do it and take your money and profit back out within an acceptable time frame, so you go to a governmental entity and get it to do the infrastructure, in this case, a very expensive bridge, and then you get rich off of development of the property that benefitted from it.

Well, here's a caller that actually has informaton from that part of Alaska! Interesting......he has a different perspective!......but it sounds like the ferry is a better deal still!
