There's something big coming in this city (Chris Matthews)
MSNBC ^ | oct. 19, 2005 | MSNBC

Posted on 10/19/2005 2:12:53 PM PDT by blogblogginaway

'Hardball' host Chris Matthews discussed the latest in the Plame leak case with MSNBC's Amy Robach on Wednesday morning. Here's an excerpt of what he had to say:

...............If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week and they are going to blow this White House apart.

It's going to be unbelievable.

I think the people watching right now who are voters better start paying attention to this issue. It's not just about whether somebody's name was leaked, it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not, whether people knew about that or not, and what they did when they were charged against that kind of offense against the United States.

It's serious business.

stuning developments.

Chris seems pretty sure of his predictions. He is either going to be lauded or laughed out of D.C. I would love to know just who is contacts are that are so convincing to him that he would chance looking like the biggest goober in MSM history. 'cause if it doesn't come down the way he thinks...

Doesn't Chrissy's show still trail it's rivals on FOX and even CNN? No wonder they have to put in print what he says on his show. No one is watching!

For the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished, indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be cut off; who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and ensnare him who adjudicates at the gate, and defraud the one in the right with meaningless arguments. "But here's the glitch...HOW WOULD LEAKING THAT INFORMATION SHUT HIM UP? It makes no sense...it could only lead to what's going on now. The whole thing is absurd, a story from nothing."

I've been saying this for two years - the whole conspiracy ("outing") theory is based on a premise that makes no sense.

NOW what's going to happen if the situation
doesn't pan out as CM predicts? He'll actually
cry on camera again as he did when Kerry lost?

Sad. CM's dad must be rolling over in his grave.

I have this fantasy....it starts where I run into Chris Matthews on the street and call him out, and he eventually takes a swing at me.

It ends with his jaw wired shut for the next 12 months.

Then Mrs. Orin said that the ones who were going to come out looking the worst were the media. She looked right at Chris.

LOL. Kinda like Chris' Katrina...10,000 bodies, alligators and sharks in the streets, rapes and murders in the Dome. How is that the dem party has turned people like Matthews and Russert(he doesn't spit and belch, at least not yet, but his bias is completely on display) from ostensible professionals into sockpuppets?

If that was an attempt at being a comedian I have one suggestion - don't give up your day job.

Your comment is one of the most idiotic, stupid, and insensitive remarks I have seen on FR in a long time. F off.

I agree.

I met him in '00 in Des Moines during the caucuses.

I actually got about 5 un-interrupted minutes with him in the lobby of the Des Moines Marriott.

I knew he was a lib...but I thought him to be sensible and fair-minded.

I never think that of him anymore.

"it's about whether we went to war under false pretenses or not"

It actually is, isn't it? Chris Matthews is just interpreting in his own favor, being in the "not" camp as he is. And, it is also about discrediting. But, discrediting Wilson, who had already done a bang-up job discrediting himself, was not the who and/or the what that this attempt to discredit was directed at discrediting, lol.

Fitzgerald is not going to press an indictment the last week of a Grand Jury - it would have the appearance of desperation ala Ronnie Earle. If he was going to do something and wanted it to retain any credibility, he would have dropped it today as the last reasonable sitting of the GJ.

Ed Rogers just told Chrissy he would bet money that Rove would NOT be indicted.

Chris almost went cardiac.
