Today's Field Trip: Holloman AFB, New Mexico
If you have a suggestion for a Field Trip - maybe a place where YOU have been stationed and would like to re-visit - PLEASE Freepmail it to starcmc!! Thanks!
Please remember: the Canteen is a place to honor and entertain our troops. As such we attempt to keep it MOSTLY apolitical. Thanks for playing and have a nice day! LOL!!! |

Yup it's nearly there. TBD, told me there is over twenty yards of fabric in the drapes alone. Two windows, but they are huge. The side drapes for the canopy are going to be huge amounts of fabric as well.
There are several layers to deal with and differnt lengths as well.
The padding for the head board will be cotton quilt batting with a rich brocade cover. The valances will be as lush with fabric as the head board.
The height of the head board is over 9 foot high and must be 6 to 7 foot wide.
TBD made the fret work herself. She used very small dowl wood and 2 different sized little balls. These are the side and front pieces of the canopy. They are mottled silver too.
Oh, on the headboard there will be old fashion solid brass side lamps. I have had these for years. In the center of the headboard will be a huge antique oval mirror also done in the mottled silver. These pieces will be surrounded by the side drapes of the canopy.
