Sen. Bayh: Rove Must Step Down, Even if Not Indicted
A Democratic senator and potential 2008 presidential candidate said Thursday that White House political adviser Karl Rove must step down if he is linked to the leaking of a CIA operative's name.
Rove faces a fourth grand jury appearance in the investigation of the leaking of CIA officer Valeria Plame's name after her husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, criticized the Bush administration's policies in Iraq.
"Even if he's not indicted, if it appears that a top adviser to the president of the United States was trying to harm someone personally for having a different public policy point of view, that's unacceptable behavior in the White House," Sen. Evan Bayh said.
The Indiana senator said Bush's strategists have divided the nation for short-term political gain.
"That kind of cynical strategy has worked well for Karl Rove and the people whose advice he takes, but it's not good for America and it's not the kind of politics I'm going to practice," Bayh said.
Bayh, who is considering a run for the Democratic presidential nomination, visited Iowa to campaign for legislative candidates.
Lame attempt by John Edwards wannabe/lookalike Evan (don't ask me about my relationship with my wife) Bayh.
The people of Indiana ought to be ashamed of him. I am.
I am too.
Thought you'd be interested in post #43.
Google Pixie Grismore. I've never heard any of this...but it's very interesting.
A sure sign this mutt can't win in a run for the presidency.

Ok...NEW RULE. You can't pick your own team.
Any Candidates running for President must submit the names of all their staff and cabinet nominees to the people so WE CAN DECIDE who will be in the Administration.
Let's hope that after "Bye" fails in his bid for the Dim nomination, the good Red State voters of Indiana will vote this pandering fool out of the Senate.
Clinton hypocrisy update.
Kerry, Gore, Clinton, Bayh, The Travelocity Gnome, and I saw that Daschle might run. My God, the Comedy Channel will go out of business!
THis argument is a non-starter, because there was no personal harm done to anybody as a result of this information being made available to the public, who had a right to know the truth.
Plame didn't lose her job, or have any retaliation. Her husband didn't lose his job, or suffer any ill effects. In fact, he publicly outed his wife, made millions on book deals, and became a media superstar. He even came close to having a position with a new administration.
There is no evidence that the White House was doing anything other than trying to provide factual information to the public so the public could make an informed decision as to what to believe.
When telling the truth is considered "personal attack", you have to wonder what is wrong with the people you are telling the truth about.
TO show the inherent absurdity --
Bayh says that is not the kind of politics he will practice (trying to harm someone personally for having a different point of view).
But here Bayh is, trying to harm Rove personally because Rove has a different point of view. Gee, maybe Bayh should resign. Of course he'll say he had good reasons for his statement, but so did Rove.
LOL...just more evidence this whole made up scam by the rats is coming to a close without any WH involvement whatsoever. Hoping this takes down a few of the anti-Bush rats. ;o)
A: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs..
OK, please, what about his relationship with his wife? I am from Indiana also and I think this guy is an embarrassment.
It's also a pretty good sign Rove won't be indicted.
Bayh was sworn in as senator in January 1999, just in time to vote to acquit Clinton in his Senate trial.
Opponent has to be good and put Bahy's voting record on public display to illustrate how out of sync he is with his constituents.
Yes he was born in Buffalo, but he grew up in Indiana. Went to a Catholic school in Michigan City, IN and went to Prep Schoool near my hometown of LaPorte, IN.
Under that criteria, why didn't Clinton step down? Why didn't Kerry step down from the Senate since he missed most of the votes (which is the only job of the Senator)? Why would the accusation require stepping down, only if you're an effective republican. (read: Delay, Rove, Lott).
Filthy libs just need to shut their phlegm holes.
I hate him already
Larry is currently filling his depends.
