The bird flu virus found in Turkey is the H5N1 strain dangerous to humans, the EU Commission has said. Scientists have been carrying out tests for the strain on dead birds from a farm in Kiziksa, north-west Turkey.
The EU Commission has banned all bird and poultry imports from Turkey and Romania following confirmed bird flu outbreaks in both countries.
The H5N1 version is responsible for more than 60 deaths in Asia since the end of 2003.

'No bird flu' in Romania, says EU
EU - The European Union has said it has so far found no evidence of the presence of bird flu in Romania. A spokesman said tests on suspected cases had come back negative, and experts were hopeful that further examination would confirm this. Romania culled thousands of birds amid fears of an outbreak of the H5N1 virus, deadly to humans, after three ducks were found dead in a remote village. Test results on separate samples from Turkey are expected later in the week. Ankara is racing to contain a suspected outbreak at a turkey farm in the western town of Kiziksa.

"The H5N1 version is responsible for more than 60 deaths in Asia since the end of 2003."
Wow, at that rate, assuming that all humans alive now become immortal to every malady other than bird flu, and assuming that no additional humans are born, this disease will depopulate the earth in 200,000,000 years!
WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
Might have to go with a mad cow roast.
