It may indeed by that the members of the Tax Panel, collectively, cannot read but there is no doubt that the American Taxpayer at large is giving that opportunity (AND IN SPADES).
Here are the first few General Comments to them after their recent pontification that "reform" really is not needed, but just a bit of tinkering. All but about 6 or so comments have been included - some with "Subject" line where appropriate.
Some are: funny, sad, biting, reflective, even discerning or not well informed. All are expressions of the American system. The Panel would do well to read (for a change).
It takes them a day or so to post stuff and in fact I think they are just being innundated with comments.
The public "gets it". The tax panel doesn't.
I got on there earlier in the day and posted my comments. Subsequenty, I couldn't get back on it for hours. They were jammed.
God bless him, as I know he does. I miss him and think of him more often than I can say.
comments ping...
Here's the link. Be patient it is still jammed:

Some of the comments are just priceless ...
Hope the site calms down enough to spend some more reading time there. It's great.
The panel appears to be made up of a bunch of morons.
Yep; I can't argue with that one.
I wrote my congressloser about six months ago (Cynthia McKinney). If any of you are in such a wacked out district and don't think it is worth writing consider this: A vote against the FT is a vote against letting all constituents keep ALL of their FICA. How would the contituents feel if they knew that they could have kept that money and Cynthia wouldn't let them? Hmmmmm?
I love the form letters I receive from my lefty senators and congress critters always telling me to jam it up my ass because everything is for my own good.
Oh I have had a word or two for them on several occasions. The following is my lates submision:
Pathetic! That is the only word to describe your intentions announced yesterday!
The people want REAL, HONEST, tax REFORM such as that described in HR25/S25, currently before both houses of congress and have said as much to you at every opportunity yet you completely and totally ignore them and offer only more tinkering!
PATHETIC! You should be individually and collectively ashamed of yourselves for letting your country and the president down in this manner!
An interesting point all right.
bttt
Oops, "mile" = "mild" of course.
I wrote my response.
It wasn't easy to be civil, I will tell you. Thanks for all the info today pigdog!
This was a good one:
Subject: You're doing a swell job
Comment: Based on the news that has been released today (10/12/05) regarding your work, it appears to be business as usual. Thanks for the spineless, unimaginative and politician-friendly response to the crisis that is our tax system. If all it took was a bandaid, then this problem would have been fixed long ago, instead of getting worse.
If you had any guts at all, you would recommend a major overhaul, such as the fair tax bill, instead of sticking it to us again. Thanks for nothing ... I can only pray that Americans wake up and start dumping tea again and dumping all of the worthless policitians that infest the hallowed halls of government.
Actually, I can hardly wait until they get some more posted on the site (they're running behind but that's hardly a surprise).
There should be a lot of other good ones showing up, too.
You live in Honolulu too?
d;^)
