".....never thought to mention kitchen matches that were seen around the area Sunday afternoon.

I remember reading about matches all around. I don't know why but I immediately thought of them a kitchen matches and that maybe he was trying to get up the nerve to light the fuse to the bomb and that is why so many of them.

That was my first impression. It never occured to me that a cell phone would have been used to detonate it.

I've found that the 5 pm reports are the best ones for all the channels. At 6 they tend to gloss over what they reported at 5, and at 10, it's almost as though they're backtracking.

"Next thing I heard was Mark Davis saying how strange Joel's dad was.."

I agree. Much too eager to give interviews and ramble for someone who just lost a son to suicide. In some of his earlier interviews, his "pat" answers on why his son may have done this sounded just like a shrink to me.

Caught the end of Joel's dad's conversation with Mark Davis. Don't know what to make of it.

There is the threat of misguided vigilante violence aimed at mosques and Muslims in general.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people quibble over your use of the word "misguided."

One of the reasons I don't post there. I got tired of the liberal crap.

His Dad did not show ONE ounce of sadness in the interview. He sounded happy and upbeat. This guy has got to be a hardcore liberal...

Shades of Nick Berg. His dad wasn't upbeat, but he was a hardcore lib if I remember correctly. I'd better pick up some extra tinfoil at the store tonight.

"Why is this not the subject of every newscast, 24 hours per day?"

Maybe because by not giving the terrorists credit, they
make it useless for the terrorists to commmit acts of terror.
Maybe we are safer that way. (Why shoot down an airliner,
if no one will ever learn it was anything but an accident?)

But, this silence does strain the trust the people put in the government and in the media.

"Why is this not the subject of every newscast, 24 hours per day?"

My opinion is that is would scare America *hitless, meaning the economy would plummet even further. America is on the brink of the biggest recession since 1979. Any further blows to consumer spending would be disasterous. I am sure the enemy knows this already, hence such timing of an attack.

Just stretching here but match heads make a good propellent or worse if contained. I made a cannon in HS and used match heads for propellant. Works just as good as black powder.
Did the guy have a match head bomb?

You couldn't pay me $100 to ride one of those campus buses to class at OU after what happened on Saturday... talk about a soft, easy target.. those things are jam-packed with 60+ people on each trip, with lots of middle easterners wearing backpacks for class

"He wasn't suicidal -- it was an accident or someone set off the bomb that blew him up. He had intended all along with others to do great harm to the people in the stadium and since I was one of them with my two kids, I am as mad as can be at the attempted coverup that was orchestrated by the OU President and who knows who else."

Your anger is more then justified. I thank the good Lord above He did not allow this attrocity to occur.
