Ann Marie Tallman serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Campaign for College Opportunity. Tallman is president and general counsel of the Mexican Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). Since 1998, Tallman has been an active MALDEF board member and has been an executive with the mortgage lending giant Fannie Mae since 1994. Before becoming president of MALDEF, Tallman was Senior Vice President of Fannie Maes Single Family Mortgage Business - Western Business Center in Pasadena. She also has served as the president and CEO of the non-profit Fannie Mae Foundation in Washington, D.C.; as a Deputy Director for both the City and County of Denver; and as executive director for the Colorado Hispanic League. The first in her family to attend college, Tallman received a B.S. in psychology and political science, distinction with special honors from the University of Iowa, and her juris doctorate from U.C. Berkeleys Boalt Hall School of Law.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus opposition to conservative lawyer Miguel A. Estrada, who was nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit but dropped out two years ago after being blocked by Democrats.
Ann Marie Tallman , president and general counsel of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, said the project members want to educate the public about the "long lasting and far reaching" impact that the judiciary has on people's lives.
"This is not a lobbying exercise. This is about making sure the electorate is informed," she said in an interview. " . . . As an informed electorate, we should be able to weigh in with our opinions."
