Harriet Miers
I just heard this on the radio on my way home from the gym and I thought to myself, "Isn't that the group that....?" I couldn't believe that was what I was hearing, but it's true! I imagine this is going to make BIG news when everyone figures it out. :-)
I just googled their website:
"Exodus is a worldwide interdenominational, Christian organization called to encourage, strengthen, unify and equip Christians to minister the transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ to those affected by homosexuality."
Somebody pass the popcorn -- once the MSM sees that, all hell is gonna break loose...
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Bricklaying is a demanding job.
Because on its face it is awful and I don't see any mitigating facts to make this pick deserve the benefit of the doubt. Bar Association? Lottery? Political lawyer? Do these things make you hopeful?
If he was going to go outside the system to pick a new judge he could have done us all the favor and picked someone who wasn't a lawyer.
I know what you mean, but a bloodless statement of the facts would show that I donated to McGovern and voted for Carter. (ONCE!)
Now I'm a religious hard-righter.
People do change for the better. Not often -- but it happens!

And Mary Mattland is married to James Carvill.
"The sky is falling! 20 years ago she donated money to democrats when, as DeLay himself was saying the other day, Texas had a one-party system just like the rest of the South."

woman lawyer who has never married?
for me that is an indicator of carreer woman who want to vindicate her "single life" choice.
Does not bode well in favor of her life experience. It only indicates she has no life.
Or that Ginsburg was in her's...Face it, the Ginsburg playbook for dealing with the hearings will apply to all fuure candidates, our and theirs.
Some news on Dr. Miers and the pro-choice issue from
http://www.timothypcarney.com/?p=156
"In 1993, after the ABA had voted to adopt a pro-choice stance, the State Bar of Texas, under Miers leadership, fought to have the issue put to a vote of the full ABA membership. She said:
If we were going to take a position on this divisive issue, the members should have been able to vote.
Grog happy. *grunt*
I agree 100% with your post.
I don't know. This is just another reason not to like this pick when you consider who he could have nominated. I feel like we just passed on several better people.
So there's no progeny to consider when making decisions about the future of our country...
I will be shocked if she's not pro-life.
So David Frum knows she's pro-life? How does he know? This could change my mind knowing this for sure.
Check out #642
Thanks, tx. Public Service is apparently a strong point of hers....Sen. Hutchinson was just speaking on FOX about her community activities and such (besides leadership skills, aslo a great worker behind the scenes).
No it's not fair and to be honest .. this whole DOOM AND GLOOM and I'm voting for Hellary in 08 is getting really boring
