We just elect those who do. What's so difficult about this connection for you??? If we elect folks we have a right to expect them to perform to our expectations or at least the core values we based our vote on. Otherwise we would have elected someone else....If not why not have a lottery or flip a coin?

No, I do not think there will be much opposition from Republicans on the Judiciary Committee. They will be good soldiers and move to rapidly confirm.

The fallout will be among the conservative wing of the rank and file Republicans. At this time we can only hope, not know, but hope Ms.Miers will be a conservative. We had such high hopes with Jones, Brown, Luddig...proven quantities. Like the bee that flew above a field of beautiful flowers in full bloom and landed on a cowpattie. I don't mean that to disparage Ms.Miers, but just to say we had a target rich envionment of strict constructionists and he chose the unknowable.

I think this will be the reason or excuse for real conservatives to look at the Constitution party or other conservative organizations who can be trusted to do what they say they will do. This choice was to avoid a fight with the dems. I believe President Bush is exhausted and was not wanting to fight. But what else is the Presidency, but a fight for certain ideologies to prevail and cerain ideologies to be crushed. We gave him the White House, The Senate and The House. He is giving us the status quo. John Roberts = Renquist. Miers = OConnor. What a shame to miss the opportunity at greatness. This is something Jimmy CArter would have done. Or Clinton. Greatness is most often demonstrated with bold decisive action. This was go-along-to-get-along. This is the preeminent missed opportunity to do the right thing...and President Bush missed the mark by a country mile. And your children and grandchildren will be the ones to pay the price. What a shame.

I am usually a positive attitude thinking person, but yes, I sadly believe the war to save the lives of countless millions of unborn babies is lost in these United States, you can fight it all you want and I will support those who do, however, I honestly believe that it is a lost cause, there will be no victory for us who believe abortion is murder.

But, I firmly believe that God will deal with those who murder unborn babies.

I agree - abortion will be legal and common for as long as America exists. So will high taxes, big government spending, open boreders, etc.
