From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said. The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.
The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.
After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Thanks for this new info. If true, this becomes an even more dangerous situation.

You're welcome. Sperry's book is great, albeit, disturbing due to the information he has uncovered.

Read my 660! A girl at my son's fraternity saw two ME types run in the stadium and then separate minutes after the bomb explosion. Her and a fraternity brother of my son who witnessed the explosion were being interviewed outside my son's fraternity when my daughter and I left.

Thank you for the eyewitness (and earwitness) report. It is good to have one of our most reliable FReepers giving a firsthand report.
The news about two men fleeing is important. It adds another piece to the puzzle.
Kids playing with pipe bombs?
I think NOT.

Glad you and yours are ok. That must have been so frightening.
They are saying it was a suicide bomber? Someone who was trying to blow up other people? Was it a Muslim? Do they know?

I have in the past years met David Boren and chatted with him on a couple of occasions.
He may be to the left now but in the past he was known more as a moderate Democrat.
In todays Senate environment he would be far to the right of Dingy Harry, Murdering Ted Kennedy, Traitor John Kerry, Little Dickey Turdbin, Lying Tommy Harkin, Hellary Klinton and Babbling Babs Boxer.

The police were interviewing him and one of the girls that was over at the fraternity (I park there) because she saw two men run in the stadium after the explosion and separate. If the girl is correct, I'm curious why no explosions on their part?

Thank you for the first hand report and thank God all are safe. It must be tense there. It appears there is alot more to this than is currently being reported.

I was at the game and word is that there are two more suspects on the loose or at least that is what is being said around campus and they are taking bomb sniffing dogs through the buildings that were open as my son had to go unlock his office in one of the buildings on the South Oval which is closed off. He is a GA and got the word to go unlock their office.

OSU got thumped by colorado 34 to 0 today. I figure it's some aggie who's upset. :)
Our cable went out during the second quarter. My wife made a joking comment about some aggie blowing up the cable company to make the Sooner fans mad. Of course we had no idea then that there really was a bomb going off. Still don't know if the loss of signal was related to the bomb. Odd that it happened at the same time. We lost all the channels and our internet until just before the second half. Never heard about the explosion until after the game.

I really dont give a rats ass what their motivation or overall strategy is. OKC has already been bombed once and now it looks like we might have been hit again. albeit on a smaller scale. The enemy is here and lives among us and I plan to live my life accordingly.
