The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department. The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State. After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

"reasons of liable?" Very interesting. How could posting the exact information someone posts on their website be considered "liable"? Me thinks someone(s) have something(s) to hide perhaps? And I'm not talking about JR.
Right now it is gossip until someone can validate it.

My pet theory: Joel is a normal kid. Every young man has emotional instability, hormones, etc. Most young men in Colorado or Oklahoma are familiar with firearms. No big deal. He didn't make a bomb.
Joel was seen sitting on a bench prior to the explosion. This doesn't sound like a guy preparing to kill himself.
All the photos on the frat website show normal looking guys. No arabs.
The bomb exploded at a time the area would have normally been filled with people. Halftime was late.
After the explosion, two ME men were seen running from the scene.
The area is known to be a hotbed of radical Islam. Other known terrorists have been known to have been there in the past.
Boiled down, Joel is a victim of a bomb that went off too early that was left in place by terrorists.
Just speculating, and only posting it because no one else has said it yet, that I've seen.
Add to that the timing was the same as Bali. Who knows, though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone earlier pointed out that Walker-Lind (sp?) wasn't a Muslim name either.
Correction, minor was a description of the explosive they used to blow up the backpack, NOT a description of the "2nd device" they thought might have been in the backpack.
We still don't know there was a 2nd bomb, only that the police used a small amount of explosives to detonate a backpack found on the scene.
It is no different than the other news sources that ask us not post from there sites. It is JR's decision not to fight with them.
Several of the members of the site used to post on FR, primarily on the Threat Matrix threads... there was some sort of fallout, and they decided they didn't want any of their information posted here.
Sorry, but I think that website is BS. What is the "Northeast Intelligence Network" and why would something at OU be of any concern to some made-up organization in the northeast?

And supposedly the explosion as heard tonight in Norman was the cops blowing up whatever was found in the apartment today....

We'll probably never know the whole story just like we don't know about the bombing of the Murrah Building. It sure is possible that the kid just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You're saying the bench and the bomb and Hinrichs were on the WEST side of Cross Hall?
That's not at all what I was picturing. I've been on fun bus trips to the game and we always parked right there on Asp, between Cross Hall and Owen Field (I just HAD to write that--Benny Owen's family was friends of my family's and mine. Heh, I'm not all that close to Eddy & The Gaylords).
So, these buses were actually on the South Oval itself? Duh, that's what they've said all along, but I was picturing the east side of Cross Hall.

Law enforcement performed a controlled detonation at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the Norman Police Departments's firing range on State Highway 9 and Jenkins Avenue.
