The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Although slavery was abolished in the kingdom in 1962, the practice still flourishes there.

Ranking Saudi religious authorities endorse slavery; for example, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan insisted recently that

"Slavery is a part of Islam" and whoever wants it abolished is "an infidel."

The U.S. State Department knows about the forced servitude in Saudi households and laws exist to combat this scourge but, as Mr. Mowbray argues, it "refuses to take measures to combat it."

Finally, Saudis know they can get away with nearly any misbehavior.

Their embassy provides funds, letters of support, lawyers, retroactive diplomatic immunity, former U.S. ambassadors as troubleshooters, and even aircraft out of the country; it also keeps pesky witnesses away.

Given the American government's lax attitude toward the Saudis, slavery in (New York,) Denver, Miami, Washington, Houston, Boston, and Orlando hardly comes as a surprise.

Only when Washington more robustly represents American interests will Saudi behavior improve.

Oct. 7, 2005 — A source for information that has led to the terrorism scare on New York City's subways has identified at least one of the attackers by name and claims that the man already is in the United States, ABC News has learned.

In addition, ABC News has learned, one of two Iraqi insurgents who were sources for the threat information said when arrested, reportedly in perfect English: "You f—-ing can't stop us now; it's too late."

A third man escaped arrest.

Sources say the informant told officials that the members of the attack team are made up of five nationalities — including Afghans, Syrians and Iraqis.

the article is from WND G2 (by Paul Williams) sub so I cannot post the entire article as I'd like but here are highlights:

1.a "nuclear hell storm" planned for seven major cities – is set to occur in October.
The seven cities targeted by al-Qaida for nuclear destruction are New York, Washington DC, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Chicago.

2.Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the top al-Qaida lieutenant in Iraq, mentions the "Great Ramadan Offensive" that will create a "fateful confrontation" with the United States and Israel.
Ramadan begins Tuesday, Oct. 4, and ends on Nov. 2. The Night of Determination will occur Oct. 29

3.The communiqué, dated May 30, was intercepted by CIA officials and remains on the Global Information System database that is accessible only to government officials with high-security clearance.

In 1998, he purchased large quantities of highly enriched uranium from Simeon Mogilevich, a Ukrainian arms dealer. For one delivery of fifteen kilos of uranium-236, Mogilevich was paid $70 million. Bin Laden also purchased several bars of enriched uranium-138 from Ibrahim Abd, an Egyptian arms dealer and several Congolese opposition soldiers.

From 1999 to 2001, bin Laden hired scientists and technicians from the A.Q. Khan Research Facility in Pakistan not only to build new nukes from the highly enriched uranium and plutonium but also to maintain, upgrade, reconfigure, and redesign his "off-the shelf" nukes, including nuclear mines, so that they could be packed into lightweight (less than eight pounds) suitcases and backpacks or molded into warheads that could be launched from 120 or 155 millimeter recoilless rifles.

Upon the arrests of Dr. Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood and Dr. Chaudry Abdul Majid, two top officials from the Khan facility, the CIA discovered that several of bin Laden’s tactical nukes had been forward-deployed to the United States from Karachi.

Yes, I noted that the scientists had taken the training and were coming here, something there that we are not quite getting, unless I am thinking of the missing scientists that left Pakistan and Russia.

We know that OBL hired russian scientists for $2,000. a month.

We know that Kadafa of Libia hired Pakistan scientists.

Some are said to be in North Korea.

Many of the russians came here and russia still has them on retainer, I read it was $125. per month, to make reports back to russia on what they were working on.

If these are scientists coming here to meet the 19 terrorists, it lets in the thought, that they will be the ones to arm a nuke, a machinest can build it, but it requires special knowledge to arm it.

According the military documents, the unclassified title is 'Counter-Terrorism Special Operations Support to Civil Agencies in the event of a domestic incident,'" he writes. "It is another Top Secret/SPECAT plan directing the same special mission units to provide weapons of mass destruction recovery and 'render safe' in either a terrorist incident or in the case of a stolen (or lost) nuclear weapon.

In addition to the Pentagon's nuclear terror drills, the FBI has also begun conducting simulation exercises dealing with the threat of nuclear terror.

Much of the action in these drills takes place behind the scenes invisible to the public, the FBI says.

The FBI simulation was taking place within days of a Pentagon exercise scenario in which authorities tried to arrest a terrorist discovered unloading an improvised nuclear weapon in the port of Charleston, S.C.
