A number of different Websites are floating quite a few names in the past 24 hours. RedState.org is using the term Schizophrenia for the current list of picks for the United States Supreme Court.
Judge Roberts is up for Chief Justice William Rehnquist's spot, so that leaves a vacant spot with Justice Sandra O'Connor's resignation.
In one post yesterday, eight names were dropped on RedState.org (I think).
Any Freeper/Lurker/other ideas on this?
How about Dick Cheney for SCOTUS?
The point of all this name-dropping is to prevent pre-emptive attacks on the expected nominee.
I'm available.
A few ideas discussed last night on another post.....

I wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't concered about how long he has left.
....Senator Fred Thompson....
Judge Alex Kozinski, anyone?
I hope he nominates whichever conservative female will annoy and aggravate Ginsburgt he msot..
True. Then Karl Rove. That'll make those liberal colons twist.
Buckhead for SCOTUS!!
President George W. Bush's father nominated Justice Souter. If this is another pick like that, I would not mind attacks on that person.
Let us just say I fear that history might repeat itself...
Why not Jim Robinson? Would you accept? (got to get back to work...)
I would love to see him nominate Mark Livin.
Would the rats howl or what?
Just serve 'em up Janice Rogers Brown, and let the Dems know that if they dont accept her, they'll get me as their next nominee =)
Hopefully Edith Jones. But I also think Miguel Estrada is in play. I know that Democrats would kick and scream, which would create a media firestorm and get President Bush back to being on the offensive in a situation. From what I understand, he is conservative, young, and hispanic, which is definently not a requirement, but will help nonetheless. My first pick is Edith Jones. Second, Estrada.
I like the Hispanic pick idea better than the woman one. Estrada or Luttig.
I am not picking Edith Jones because she is a woman. I am picking her because I think she is the most conservative. I see the plus side of doing identity politics, but I do not subscribe to the notion that you should play that game on the Supreme Court, but Edith Jones is not a conservative-lite who would be a good choice because she is a woman and that would make people happy. Edith Jones is my pick because she is the most conservative. As Ginsburg is to the left, Jones would be to the right.
