He probably would have been better than Tenet at the CIA.
I liked the robot, Hymee (sp?).
Totally agree. He's the original Austin Powers, while Mike Myers was still in diapers.
Drop and give me 20.
Would you believe 10?
Would you believe 5?
How about half a push-up and then you go pick your nose for awhile?
Let's not forget 'Our man Flint'...
I figured they would know far better than I, but Google seems to confirm your info.
I asked you not to tell me!
Yep.
Don Knotts was in the Army.

Born Donald James Yarmy on April 13, 1923 [correct, despite frequently reported erroneous dates] in New York City to Irish-Hungarian parents, Adams hoped for an engineering career. He joined the U.S. Marines in the early days of World War II and served as a drill instructor. He saw combat in the invasion of Guadalcanal and was the only survivor of his platoon......
Rest in peace Marine....
I'm not sure, either - that's why I was asking. I remember the "Mr. Rogers was a SEAL" stuff that went around when he passed.
Per IMDb - Agent 99 was originaly supposed to be Agent 69 but NBC thought that was too risque.
No chairborn commando here either, sounds like he was deep in the Sh**.
Marvin was wounded on Saipan. Don't believe he was at Tarawa.
Mel Brooks and Buck Henry are supposedly producing a new "Get Smart" movie due out in 2006. Who would you cast?
I can imagine when Don Adams was told a couple years ago that he had bone lymphoma his doctor probably had a conversation like this:
Doctor: Mr. Adams, due to the necessary chemo therapy regimen, there is a very good chance that you will suffer the following side-effects: nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, hair loss, sores in the mouth and digestive tract, fatigue, muscle aches, and changes in fingernails and toenails.
Adams: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.....loving it!
Absolutely loved that show. I think my first boyhood crush was for Barbara Feldon.
RIP
Knotts served in the Army.
"Chief, it's KAOS"!
Urban legend. Knotts served in the Army and wasn't a DI there either.
Get Smart, along with The Odd Couple, are my two favorite tv comedies of alltime. I have my complete set of the show on DVD, recorded from a TV Land marathon years ago. It's not perfect but it's 14 home cooked DVDs of the series and will get me by until an official release!
I just emailed TV Land to ask if they will do a tribute/mini marathon to honor him. I'll let Freepers know if they get back to me.
I wrote them back when Tony Randall passed just over a year ago and they wrote back, saying that the whole staff at the station was upset at the loss and feeling it, and that they would be doing a tribute to him later that week and gave me the date (before it was announced on their website or on tv). Lets hope they do the same for Don Adams!
Remember when he was in Mexico looking for the "Tequila Mockingbird"?
