I arrived in DC yesterday to attend the Support Our Troops Rally. I would guess approx. 200 people were there to support our troops. We arrived at the "Mission Rally" around 12:30. From there the group moved a few blocks to our designated area to 'counter' protest the anti-American, anti-troops protesters. We were seperated by waist high railings and a police line. Our 'area' was about a block long infront of the J. Edgar Hoover Bldg. I don't know where the protesters march orginated but they arrived in our area around 2pm. We left shortly after 5pm at which time the protesters were nearing an end. I would estimate their number to be around 20,000 to 30,000. However I read his morning there were 100,000. Their number is hard to estimate as we noticed some of the same people going through the march repeatedly.
To me, the protesters seemed to be a splintered group. Many depicted out and out hatred for the current Administraton. The remainder appeared to me to be divided between protesting the war, the military and freedom. Within 3 minutes of them arriving in our area I was spat upon. Many of them donned kerchiefs which eerily resembled terrorists. The angry protesters fluxuated between the 'peace' sign and the 'middle finger' salute. Our group remained cohesive in their support of our troops and the war we are waging against terrorism.
I came away with a feeling of a common bond that united complete strangers of all ages.
I am extremely happy with my decision to come to DC. I met many people here from all over the country who strongly support our troops and understand why we are fighting terrorism "over there" instead of here.I will stay for the rally tomorrow which I understand will be covered live by CSPAN beginning at 12pm .
Will be leaving shortly to go to the Rally to Honor Military Families. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

Thought so! The chin fringe confused me a little, however. LOL. Kristinn is the cream of the crop, IMHO.

"Their number is hard to estimate as we noticed some of the same people going through the march repeatedly."
That's how THEY FOOL EVERYBODY ABOUT THEIR SIZE. As usual, they have to CHEAT to make their point.
Great Job!!!
There is nothing like actively taking a stand for what you believe!
I hope our troops in Iraq and Afganistan and the world over have the opportunity to see the great Americans like you and others shoving our message of support down the gullets of the communists er, socialists, I mean liberals (whatever) who are the most selfish, creepy demoralizers and whiners and ideologically blinded band of misfits going.
Some people get involved, make the effort, actually DO something to support the troops and GWB, while some clowns just sit on their asses in front of their computers and act snarky and superior. I applaud all the FReepers who took the time and made the effort to get out there and counter the Code Pinko creeps.
Well done! Thank you for the pics and support of our troops and America.
