I'd recommend it. Especially if you like movies that are kinda freaky. Watch the Japanes Ringu first. It'll give you a better appreciation for the US version.
Another good Japan/US cross-over movie is The Grudge. That one will make you look over your shoulder a bit.

Just don't kill your wife, child, and the cat... all at the same time. Especially if your wife is infatuated with the guy living down the street from you...
Remember, in Japanese mythology, there is no "but I'm innocent" clause as protection from their evil spirits...

It seems you've little option but to practice informally; it's not the kind if thing you can do via correspondence.
Now, are you planning to handcraft a matched pair of ya, haya and otoya, to go along with your yumi?

I believe I shall attempt to manufacture arrows, though I will have to find a source of flights, and do not know whether left hand AND right hand paired sets will be practical.
I will almost certainly purchase modern arrows for prctice until I have proven to my satisfaction that arrows I make can do the job.
I will definitely need a 3finger glove for my right hand, and possibly a guard for my left forearm.

Ju-on? Yeah... caught a couple of those. Never did catch more than the first US/Japanese versions of Ringu/The Ring though.

Yeah... as much as I like Jennifer Connelly, the US version just doesn't look as spooky.
