There are so many different desert things here...I like the ocotillo because it is not only beautiful but very useful for a number of things.

I think I could talk all night on the desert, so I'll quit before I lose my audience.

Whispers* Out here, it's called "jumping cholla" because all you have to do is walk by it and it will grab you...

mine are close to the surface, and huge.
unfortunately, they are also "rollers"

Wow. All I have to do is walk a mile three times a week and my metabolism goes into high gear. I thought it was normal until my ex-fiance and I walked three miles three times a week. He never lost an ounce, and I had to eat a whole 15" pizza on those nights to keep from losing more weight...

I really hope this bow-making is a good experience for you. It might even evolve into something that pays...so-to-speak...

Aw dang! I have nothing to contribute to the conversation about abnormally low body temperature, blood pressure, and invisibilty to motion sensors.

I'm just so blasted normal!

I just know I'm going to get voted off the island of misfit toys! -- (Pretty funny, huh, 'Face? Me being called normal! -- *giggle/snort*)

My veins frequently stick out.
Had a nurse sensuously run her fingers across the veins with her eyes lit up as if it were the most fascinating thing she'd ever seen.
Creeped me out..

several folks locally have made noises about desiring a handmade bamboo bow...

the question is: will they pay the price I'd have to charge, or will the balk and crawdad?

I had a high-school friend who had to move from AZ to Washington State because she had no sweat glands and couldn't process the heat. She is the first cousin to a guy who stars on General Hospital...

I've had lights begin flickering, or explode, but not go out.
When doors don't recognize me, they do so at their own peril.
I discovered that a good solid hit on most such doors will convince them to pivot open on their emergency release pins.

I've given somewhere over 5 gallons of blood.
the lust some of the vamps display upon seeing my pipes is a bit... odd.

Ah, yes, of course, but then, it is asymmetric, is it not?

One wonders if this is to give a slight gravity defying flick upon launching, so as to negate the effect of the arrow "falling" for that millisecond in which it is traversing the bow.

She does look rather long in the tooth, though she gave me a good long look over.

(Horny old drooling thing)...

Almost like a wait-a-minute vine, eh?
A wait-a-minute vine is ths odd looking reject from the rain forest.
Grows in the wild here in NY/NJ/PA.
It is medium green, has oval leaves, and yellow thorns slightly longer than a quarter inch, thorns tipped in red or black.
Walking by it grants one the unique feeling of thorns grabbing you and saying "Wait a minute".

not me - these things just go out.
not all of them. about 1 in 10
on foot, driving, or as a passenger - irrespective of vehicle or location.
sometimes I know it is going to happen.
in calm company, this can be a nifty parlor trick.
in unsettled company... I'd rather it not happen.

Hi! (How do I abbreviate HKMk23?)

I spent the first five years of my life in Alaska, and then the next 17 in the heart of the Rockies, but I just cannot tolerate cold. It's a four-letter word. ;o]

Mine are huge, too, and on the topside, they roll, but no one has yet been able to find a vein on my right elbow, or find one on the top of the joint. And if they use the hand veins for anything, I bruise to my armpits.
