PurVirgo checking in from the eastforker compound. We're faring well out here, thanks to eastie's generator :)
Any Kingwood-ites with a status report? I'm stuck out here till I can get some gas, and my apartment is in the back of Kingwood. I'm curious if the Livable Forest fared well through some of the gusts I heard/felt.
Will check back in a little... Mrs. Eastie wishes to get online :o)

We made it to humblegunner's place.
He has gone feral.
He was under the bed with three cats wearing nothing but a leopard skin speedo.
With flashing eyes he waved a spoon at us while making grunting sounds.
Since it was business as usual we left.
That is all.

We're fine, but no power since 9pm last night. Doesn't look like we'll have power for several days. But we're doing OK. Can't complain. We do have phone service and water.
Have had only moderate rain. Strong winds last night between midnight and 5am. Gusts up to probably 50MPH. No damage to the house. No downed trees or big limbs. Lots of little twigs, branches, etc. Weird sky and clouds. Kinda neat, actually.
I need to get off the computer now to save my battery. I'll check in from time to time.
Glad to see that as far as we know, no Freepers were hurt.

I have family in Woodville, and wondering what is going on there.

Any road-closdure info for my elderly father trying to get back to SW Houston Beltway and westhiemer area

If you're going to get stuck, B/CS would be a good place. Plenty of strong buildings and probably pretty well stocked with food. They were expecting it to be a football weekend, and that ususally attracts thousands of people.
To: luckystarmom
Trees down widespread in Woodville--according to Ch. 13 in Houston.
Jasper has no electricity or water but phones. W might have phones.

Tell him not to go yet. They're trying to keep the roads clear so the convoys can get through. They're trying to get food and gas back into the city, the power workers and rescue crews need to get to the hot zone. Please ask him to stay put. There will be another press conference at 5:00 with return instructions, but for now they need the roads clear.

Thanks for posting.....Now I MUST get the lawn mowed.....Will give it a $5 trim instead of a $10 cut. Have limited the area in half due to gas price...Country dwellers can do that!

Tell him to wait until fuel and groceries are ready. Maybe Monday, probably Tuesday. If he jumps the gun now, it will be tougher for him.
To: glock rocks; humblegunner
He ain't here to defend himself and we did drive across Houston to check on him.
It was his choice to run out of power not mine!!
