Blanco on TV now, trying to impersonate a governor. Get this: she is asking for all sorts of money, including complete pay for police and fire from the Feds, instead of just overtime. Also she wants more money so that people of Louisiana can come home (translation...get those Rat voters back now). She also is confusung Rita and Katrina, and Rita and FEMA.
Good, her disintegration has proceeded apace.
This is the worst part about Rita hitting Louisiana, now we have to deal with Blank-Oh again.

After all, the radicals who decided that they would attack GWB over Katrina did so by claiming that Gov Blanco was somehow competent...something that her own words betray (as do the actions of the Florida and Alabama governments that fielded Katrina with narry a hiccup even though Alabama was hit by the more powerful East side of that storm).

There are hundreds of thousands of people's homes and livlihoods in this storm's path, the levees are overflowing again, millions of dollars already lost in business revenues due to evacuation, and a good portion of our refining capacity at risk, and she's talking money to pay city employees, and waving around a check from the federal government.
I've reached the point where I never want to hear the words "New Orleans" or "Louisiana" again -- and I doubt that I'm alone in that feeling.
How in the world can she justify that request? Is she a complete idiot? I've known all along that she was an incompetent stooge but this is beyond that. I hope General Honore or Admiral Allen tell her she's stuck on stupid and to shut up!
I'm about ready to suggest that the other 49 states think about suing LA for voting this incompetent into office, and making the rest of us pay through the nose for their foolishness.
