Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

Rita is going almost due north and is falling apart structurally - looks totally dsyfunctional - but will still wreak havoc on N.O. - I think Texas is totally spared, unless the later flooding gets 'em.
You got that right!
I watched Primetime Live Last night and Diane Sawywer interviewed Barbara Streisand, she flat out blamed the Bush Administration for Global Warming and his refusal in signing the Kyoto Agreement, Diane asked her how she knew the weather conditions were Global Warming? she says because she has knowledge of the Snow Caps melting on the Alps, WOW! what a amazing find Barbara
I think people should be less worried about people talking on cell phones driving and more worried about me texting behind the wheel. I'm a stickler for punctuation.
I don't think he's got a mean bone in his body.
Someone suggested Honore as press sec'y.
He could do it, and do it well.
Welcome to FR - stay safe!

dang, I bought piles of stuff. i hope we get SOME rain at least.
You can't see it in the pictures posted here, but It really looked more obvious from some video they ran about an hour ago.
They really need to use concretee to build these levee's.
I keep having people tell me about how the federal government failed to strengthen these levee's. (It is all Bush's fault...blah blah!)My response is that it is the reponsiblity of NO and LA to build there own levees if they want to live there. IMHO.
Way to herd them "cattle" cowboys.
I've got my "undocumented shopper monitor" badge all shined up.
Might find a sharpie in the mailbox today....
Someone really needs to tell Rush. I don't know him. LOL.
We need somebody to start a dedicated thread. Not it!
Rita's closing her eye because she thinks if she can't see you, then you can't see her.
Does anyone else see the eye practically disappearing on the IR images? :)
You are back! Great to see you again!
wow.. that is a lot of rain! how are you FRiend? long time . You are in fla right?
How in the world can all the forecasters be so wrong? Supposedly a catastrophic storm! Millions evacuated! If this thing fizzles, who in their right mind would ever listen to the "hurricane" experts again? I guess better safe than sorry, but what a mess.
