Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

AGREED! I don't know why I didn't think to say something. I spent yesterday helping our local emergency coordinator get information on folks that might need help if power goes off - and we're 20 miles west of Waco, practically out of the woods now.
Yep. My prayers are with you and all who stayed behind. Actually, I'm worried my Dad will change his mond, go home and load up too since the storm has weakened. He wouldn't tell ME anything until after the storm was over.
Welcome to FR, keep dry, while keeping us posted.
I thought Rather's big break was the Kennedy assassination in Dallas; and he was reprimanded for mispronouncing the word "cortege."
Too bad for the country that whomever didn't fire his ass right then.
That theory's even more preposterous than mine. And mine were meant as a joke. That guy's serious.
LOL!
From your Link:
1:30 p.m. Dulac, Grand Caillou inundated with floodwater
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said the Grand Caillou levee has breached somewhere near the Combon bridge on La. 57. Choppers are in the area to help with repairs. "I'm in Dulac right now and it's apparently ready to go under," he said. Schoolbuses have been sent to the area to help with evacuation.
Earlier, Parish President Don Schwab ordered a mandatory evacuation of residents living south of the Bobtown Bridge on Hwy. 57 in Dulac. Water has topped the levee and everybody is ordered to leave, he said.
In Montegut, crews have been working since this morning to repair a weakened patch of the levee south of town since this morning. Officials are concerned portions of east Houma also could be vulnerable to flooding.
We have been posing staged pics on FR since the '90s.
We quit posting "Do Not Try this at Home" years ago.
Got some work to do, see y'all later.
One last pic. Even the littlest puppy gets a gun.
In that last radar shot you posted it looks more like it's going to end up coming in closer to Galveston than Beaumont.
I'm in northeastern Texas. Cedar Creek Lake is almost 3 feet low. I think it will just about fill with the expected 3 to 6" of rain. Don't panic.
My kid just got off the bus and told me that the bus driver had told them that. I thought she was not telling the truth.
Very serious. Serious enough to quit his job. And the "theory" is showing up all over the MSM
Print the picture, protect it with plastic and tape it too the door.
A little red paint spilled on the mat and spashed on the door would help.
Welcome to FR. We'd really like to see you and your grandmother about 40 miles west of your present location. If you can evacuate...please do. We'll be praying for you and yours.
FYI, my buddy down the street just told me that Sugar Land will be shutting off the water service tonight.
... Time to go fill that bathtub...
Maybe Sheehan will stand out in the ditch again.....
You just missed the phone interview with Nagin on WWL. SOStupid. Making demands as far as funds they should get and that he doesn't want NO to be forgotten... what the hizzy is wrong with this guy? Shouldn't he be busy doing something about the flooding, or at least showing respect for those who may get hit? What a piece of work, meanwhile Landrieu sneaks in (on other legislation that has nothing to do with her), with huge price tags for an idiot list. They should have been thrown out right after Katrina. No way they should get their hands on a red cent of taxpayer monies.
Words just can't do justice. Waiting for them to get the clip up.
Did your AG go after the gougers?
I'll say this for Charlie Christ, Jeb Bush and the state of Florida, they don't put up with gougers or scam artists after a storm?
They haul them into court in the blink of an eye.
