have you called your local authorities to let them know you are at home with your Grandmother?.. Someone should know you are thereAGREED! I don't know why I didn't think to say something. I spent yesterday helping our local emergency coordinator get information on folks that might need help if power goes off - and we're 20 miles west of Waco, practically out of the woods now.

Waco is a long way away from the front lines.. but being prepared is what it is all about...
Interesting.. we (my other half) are planning on checking our the North side of Houston.. near Conrae (sp?) and Livingston to either build or buy our final home.. one of our son's is buying a marina in Texas and we want to be closer to him.. while this is a way from the Gulf.. that area appears to actively prepared for the event.. have a strong civic connection .. which is a positive for that area... we now live in Florida.. so we are very familiar with Hurricanes..
Our hats are tipped to you all for your caring and calm approach to the storm...
