Dangerous Hurricane Rita is expected to make landfall in the northeast Gulf of Mexico within 24 hours. Tornados have spawned in Louisiana. Water is filling the Ninth Ward of New Orleans again. A bus carrying elderly evacuees was gutted by fire this morning outside Dallas, with multiple fatalities. Television crews have positioned their hurricane reporters throughout the region to attain maximum drama effects. Whoooooa.

Is Bastardi still different than the weathercasters on the other cable stations?
Last night, he was still predicting it would go in at Galveston and High Island, up I-45 to Houston...
I know the local news in this area is predicting wind but NO RAIN for our area...gack!
That's why Bush neeeds to take a stand and stick with it. He's not going to please the liberals whatever he does.
Rain coming down in sheets according to reporters in NO...dozens of streets now under water.
they blew the levees they were repairing from blowing again....
karl rove prevented blanco from airdropping Sharpies for people to write their SSN's on themselves.
You know whose fault it all is.
Congressman Billybob
Hey, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get ya...
Stay safe.
I bet he's in Beaumont now. Goofy as he is, I LOVE him. He acts like a little old gossippy lady sometimes.
Fox reporters are trying to get anybody to say "breech," and get past "overtopping."
Col. Cauldwell based his conclusion on the water being 3 feet deep, but he didn't say where it was 3 feet deep. 3 feet deep on the other side of the levee sense since the water in the canal is more than 7 feet higher than the 9th Ward.
No question there is serious flooding - but it'll be faster and deeper if the levee does in fact breech/open all the way.
Rita may weaken to a 3 but as of now is still a 4

How about a needing friend?

Ch.11's Dr. Neil Frank (former head of the NHC) is saying that he is not at all certain the turn more to the north into Port Arthur will take place. A direct hit on Galveston is still possible, and is its current track if it doesn't turn. The steering currents that would pull it more north are weak.
Chertoff news briefing on now.
There's ZERO breeze where I am, on the southwest edge of Memorial. The leaves aren't moving one bit. You'd never suspect there was a hurricane coming!
