I never heard about the British guys on 9/11. There was such a massive amount of info coming in, that it was impossible to catch it all. What was that all about?

A lot of the bondsmen/traders kept phones on speaker with their colleagues in other countries. Apparently, their British counterparts heard everything, from the time the first plane hit until all their American colleagues were dead. From what I've read, they were traumatized by all they heard, people crying, calling loved ones, coughing, trying to find a way out, talking about jumping, and finally, dying. I read this in the first days after the attack, and never heard much about it after. But it stuck in my mind, imagine being an ear witness to all that horror. Worse though, were the people that watched the jumpers and the results on the sidewalks. The media won't show you the jumping anymore, but I have a friend who is a NYC Fireman, and he showed me pictures of the aftermath of the jumps. Shocking, awful. I will never forgive or forget the scum that did this.

Please read posts concerning pressure relief values on these types of tanks.

First of all, these pressure-valves do not drop the pressure "to zero," like the supposed professional-firefighter claimed. Zero pressure would be a vacuum.

Secondly, they don't even release it to equalize with atmospheric pressure.

Thirdly, when it relieves pressure by releasing the gas, where do you think that oxygen goes? If the cylinder is being overheated by a fire, the released oxygen just further intensifies the fire.

Fourth, depending on what happened in the bus, a cylinder landing on its regulator can break the regulator, leading to explosive decompression.

But .. at least they get warnings in enough time to flee .. earthquakes never give a warning.

Agreed. There's nothing like waking up with that sudden jolt and realizing that the earthquake is - well, it's here!

Well excuse me, the pressure is relieved to the point where the value can close if it no longer needed to releive the buildup of pressure.

Yes, the released oxygen will intensify the fire.

NO the cylinder landing on its regulator will not cause EXPLOSIVE decompression. If it were to braeak the fill value area it would take off like a rocket, but not explode.

I have been in very intense fires where cylinders filed with flammable gases were venting into the fire area and burning, and even gas meters on the walls inside of houses.

You cool it down it stops venting, it takes a lot to cause a cynlinder to rupure.

Point is the bus does not appear to hvae blown up, only the reporters reporting it seem to have blown up the story.

I guess you don't understand what the term "explosive decompression" means.

I somehow doubt your experience with the topic, if you don't understand that there can be explosions present without the vehicle "blowing up"...

Oxygen enriched enviroment with lots of old folks on O2 all it would take is a electric spark or some fool with a lit cigarette dropping a cherry on a seat cushion & you got a serious bonfire literally in nothing flat.

I just heard on one of the network news programs that the driver only had a Mexican drivers license.

Yes, oxygen cylinders have pressure relief valves that work very well and do exactly as they are designed to do.

However, if excess heat is applied to the cylinder wall, the wall will fail with disasterous results. The safety disc will remain intact.

I ran across a DVD in Sam's that was a documentarty made by those French photojournalists. They were inside the WTC shortly after the planes hit and the sounds of the bodies hitting the pavement souded like bombs going off. All the firefighters jumped whenever it happened and I got the impression it was really hard for them to take. They all looked real shook up about it. It was an awful sound. And to know that it was somebody's life that had ended. It was a tough video to watch, but I'm glad I got it. I wish I had got more. We need to remember.

I read another article that said the bus was pressed into service and didn't have a current inspection/certification certificate.. I don't the accuracy of that statement.

What??

If true, I wonder if he was legal and properly safety certified in operating commercial passenger buses?

I guess it is just a matter of how we view the term 'is'.

Later footage indicates the fuel tank may have exploded but by then the fire was raging.

If there was a brake fire, it may have been caused by low air pressure which would apply the brakes with excess heat. Detroit engines are known to be oil leakers without adequate maintenance. That would increase the possibility of a fire.

I was reading other articles on this, and the responding LEOs said it was the worst they'd ever seen, absolutely horrific. Apparently, just prior to the event, one or more motorist were trying to get the drivers attention that the vehicle was smoking. They said at least 24 of the elderly were burned to alive, and some were decapitate. Probably from explosions.
