Pentagon lawyers during the Clinton administration ordered the destruction of intelligence reports that identified September 11 leader Mohamed Atta months before the attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, according to congressional testimony yesterday. A lawyer for two Pentagon whistleblowers also told the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday that the Defense Intelligence Agency last year destroyed files on the Army's computer data-mining program known as Able Danger to avoid disclosing the information.

When did he die?
Ask yourself this...if Able Danger was apparently so successful, and the evidence mounts for that issue...then why isn't the Pentagon moving back to it? And I think the answer here is that they found an awful lot of information out about various political parties in the process. The bribes, the hidden support...issues for both parties...probably tripped up the Pentagon management...and they knew they better drop this before they revealed just how bad our democracy is. If all this data on Atta was found...just take a guess how great it would be to have it operating today...and yet we don't move in that direction. Why? There has to be a answer here that folks don't want to hear.

Bush is the POTUS, not Rumsfeld and not the rest of the clowns at the Pentagon. They report to Bush, not the other way around. If someone at the Pentagon ordered the destruction of documents and/or has blocked testimony, then Bush should fire the person. If he doesn't, then he's equally guilty of obstruction.
I see that I have some catching up to do here.
BTW, I've heard Weldon several times now say that Able Danger guys gave a briefing in January '01 and again in the spring of '01.
The spring of '01 places this clearly in the lap of the Bush administration. Do you know who received the briefing or when (approximately) the briefing occurred? Or even confirmation from Weldon that he's actually said this.
I've heard him say it but don't have transcripts of his comments.
If you were, like Clinton, a globalist why would you do anything different?
"If you were, like Clinton, a globalist why would you do anything different?"
So you think President Bush destroyed records on Atta because the President is a globalist?
I don't believe that - that's just not in character. President Bush is a globalist in the sense that he wants America to prosper in the coming global environment, not in some conspiracy sense.

"Lots of background on a lot of people. I wonder how deep all this goes and who exactly is behind it? Is China behind all of it? Is bin Laden an intentional distraction for us? Boy, I could come up with all sorts of stuff."
Two facts on that line of thinking:
1) A Chinese general wrote an entire book in 1998 called "Assymetrical Warfare". The document included using commercial airliners as civilian "bombs".
2) WHILE we were invading Afghanistan, delegates of the Taliban were visiting the PRC.
My personal belief is that Al Queda is being used by the Chinese to weaken us economically. Attacks on us cause small casualties in comparisons to major conflicts, but the psychological impact does hurt our economy massively. Why drain us? Militaries cost money. Ask Rome why they couldn't defend themselves from the Germanic hoardes. They lost their tributary tax base and could not afford an adequate military to defend themselves. The Chinese are an old culture, that understands planning 50 years ahead. We on the other hand think year to year. They want superpower status and are well on their way to getting it. We on the other hand are beginning to become a receeding superpower. That's alright, it happened to Britain with the USA being the major catalyst. Britain turned out fine. If history teaches us anything, we should begin to focus on our own people then trying to bring peace to the globe.
Complications from a heart attack? Riiight.
Huh, well, Harry Ellen is dead:
Weldon says in the last week he learned that thought the bulk of activity was in 99 and 2000, but a 3 hour brief was given to Chairman of Joint Chiefs in 2001, Steve Cambone, was in meeting with lawyer and head of DIA in March 2001 where AD was discussed.
That means it was either Shelton or Meyers...Meyers took over on Oct. 1 2001. Shelton was 97 to 2001...my bet it's Shelton!
My head hurts.
Mine too. We need a flow chart to figure out who all the players are and how they tie into each other. It could be quite interesting.
October 22, 2004.
Hmm...might this correlate with the destruction of civilian Able Danger materials in 2004?
only Michael Savage is giving this good coverage.
Mark Levin and another former DOJ friend of his on radio last night - said that neither of them could understand the reaction from the pentagon regarding stopping this testimony.
Why is the first question to ask !!!. Motive leads to the perp.
How about some of the Pentagon top brass protecting their own hide, not Clitoon's?
During Clinton's misrule, speciffically 1993-99 United States willingly and knowingly supported Al Qaeda in Bosnia and Kosovo and colluded with Iran to arm Muslims in Bosnia. (American cargo planes were used to secretly ship Iranian weapons and possibly instructors)
As a result, Al Qaeda got a foothold in Europe and AQ cells mushroomed throughout Europe.
For example, Hamburg cell in charge of recruitment of 911 flight crew was manned by Bosnian alumni. Terrorists plotting Madrid attack used the same network. Owing to Clitoon, AQ is firmly entrenched in Europe for many years to come.
The hero of this article, Mohammad Atta trained in Bosnia in 1999, in front of the nose of U.S. Army.
The process of arming and training AQ in Bosnia was supervised by active duty officers and "retired advisers".
At that time, perhaps it was no big deal to them. AQ was an American ally in the Balkans, protected by alphabet soup agencies and The President himself. (When Sudan offered OBL on a plate with no strings attached, Clitoon refused the offer)
All of this changed on sunny morning of September 11 2001.
Some of the guys who aided AQ in Bosnia realized their name is intertwined with Messrs. Atta et al. who suddenly became famous and not the best people to be associated with.
They have a rock solid motive to destroy Atta files. Retirement in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla is more attractive than government sponsored stay in Fort Leavenworth, Ks
I would start from there and smoke out the perps.
We don't know whether the Pentagon is doing something like Able Danger now - and it certainly doesn't look like we're going to know. We also don't know to what extent regulations on data retention and sharing affect data mining.
