"What's up with your shirt?"
Those are the words a former senior at Fleming Island High School remembers hearing as he walked from his fifth-period algebra class toward the gym. The 18-year-old, who is not being identified due to his family's concerns of safety, had just taken off his Dixie Outfitter T-shirt, exposing a highly offensive shirt.
"What about it?" replied the 18-year-old, skinny and white.
"Well, you know it's racial," said a black student, now in a group confronting the 18-year-old.
"Yeah. So?"
The undershirt the white student wore had a confederate flag on the front with the words "Keep it flying." On the back, a cartoon depicted a group of hooded Klansmen standing outside a church, waving to two others who had just pulled away in a car reading "Just married."
Two black men in nooses were being dragged behind.
Upset by the shirt, a 17-year-old black student hit the white student in the head. A crowd of about 100 students gathered to watch the Aug. 29 fight before authorities intervened.

It was a now famous photo from a leftist protest of a few years ago. But several protesters made their own with white tshirts and sharpies and wore them into the freedom walk at the Pentagon last Sunday and were not forced to leave. Incredibly insulting, and IMO, fighting words. But, our side respects others rights which has gotten us into the sorry state we find ourselves in -- staring communism in the face in our own country.
No. Just a humble attempt at gratitude. I really do like the discussions and the people are very well-read. I didn't want to kiss-a$$ too much here. ;-)
I'm sure some FReepers would make great cabinet members. Really.

It's possible that some of them are. Really.
Please, excuse the typographical errors in that last post.
by the way, here is an interesting article on "black violence": http://www.gibbsmagazine.com/violence.htm

That is another article on "black violence".
I didn't write these articles. Black writers did. So, if you have an issue with the term "black violence", you can write them and see what they say.
hmmm. That would be great. That would mean they are consulting the Freeper think-tank and might get some good ideas from outside of Washington.
we can only hope....
He's going in the Marine Corps? With any luck he will have for his drill instructor a big, black, mean gunnery sergeant who will make every hour of his life completely miserable from the day he steps on the footprints until the day he finishes boot camp. Actually, I don't believe the dork will finish boot camp. Alive, anyway.
A related kind of funny story. I had one newly promoted goofy corporal. Cpl. Holloway. Apparently -- I only heard about this after the fact -- he was giving some PFC crap and ended up saying "lets step out back and settle this". The PFC was about 6'3 200, and I swear the corporal wasn't a shade over 5'8", maybe 155. And the PFC promptly whipped the crud out of the Cpl. The senior SNCO's basically said the Cpl. deserved it, so I let it go. But talk about ruining your credibility....
What a riot! You have to be smarter than your rank----and mouth.
Thanks for great war stories. I have only boring ones, although I still have a few years to go, if they let me continue to hang around this man's Army.
Have a great evening.
I do not agree. That is pacifist thinking. Some people deserve a good punch in the mouth for saying rotten things about another man's wife, or mother; For saying "I'd like to put your lights out"; For spitting on veterans...and a host of other things.
Yeah,(mostly his real old stuff) and as to St. Alfonso, why not?
Many thanks!
Thanks. It's still a hit piece on Dixie Outfitters.
i wonder if he/she knows it's a "classic line"????

It's part of the FreeRepublic glossary, along with stuned beebers and zots and so forth. Very common on the humor threads.
I look forward to meeting you next year, btw. It's going to be a whirlwind for us, but one of the fringe benefits is meeting some Freepers in person...putting a face with the name and all that.

No, but those phrases are not EXCLUSIVE to humor threads. Rather, the humor threads are where they're most prevalent, yet they appear elsewhere as well.
the bigger the wedding, the bigger the MESS!
